Attendances.........again.

Recommended Posts

If there was ever any doubt as to why the Fleet are struggling to turn around the decline in attendances, the following advert. has appeared in this weeks Kent Messenger freebie 'The Extra' :-

Charlton vs. West Brom admission adults £15, over 60's and under 18's £10 and under 16's £5

plus return travel by coach from Gravesend, Longfield, Meopham and Strood for £5,

Okay the game against West Bromwich Albion might not be considered to be one of the most attractive matches at The Valley this season, but those prices represent an amazing deal when compared to the £12 admission to see the Fleet play in the Conference.

That said I wouldn't go to see Charlton if they paid me the above amounts, the trouble is a lot of people do.

Strange one tonight. All the people who havent turned up for a while are, most of my mates support premiership teams on Saturdays and so will be turning up tonight. Our usual 3 people may well be nearer ten, so my example would see an increase, but obviously others may not be going for the opposite reasons etc etc! shall wait and see . .

Same for me actually.

My mate has just got back from being in Australia for a year and is well up for it.

He's bringing a couple of his mates along (one of whom is a Gulls fan!) so our usual two will swell to five.

Possible £120 extra for the club just from these extras is not too bad is it?

But that's not because it's on a Friday night. They were originally coming down tomorrow, but changed because the game did.

Think its great that the club are trying a friday night game, got five of my mates to come along when we would normally be in the pub. However i know that my Grandad will not be there and is writing a letter to the club to complain!!! Still hes a season ticket holder and the club already have his money so wont miss him!!!!

That was funny though, kind of added to the atmosphere. Besides, who cares? If they pay the money (I hope they didn't jump the fence!) then they can come every week, and if the other newer people and those who object they can go down the other end of the stand where what they say is hardley understandable.

Everyone's a winner!

Actually if you stand next to them it is still hardly understandable, you can hear it a lot better though.
