I don't think I've ever had an experience like this watching a football match with the, at times, deafening fireworks displays going on all around us from start to finish. Smoke from the fireworks gradually engulfed the ground and by the end the far side of the pitch was barely visible.

 

Anyway, what threatened to be a dull encounter livened up only in the second half. Ilfords CJ Emmanuel missed a penalty on 58 minutes but they took the lead through a well taken Ian March free kick on 74 minutes. When CJ Emmanuel made it 2-0 3 minutes later they must have thought the game was already won. However, a Craig Cripps penalty and a great move finishing in a goal from Danny Benstock within the next 6 minutes delayed the celebrations and took the game into extra time. Ilford bounced back with the winner from Brian Nicholls 5 minutes into the first period.

 

Line-up: Collier, Piller, Taylor, Price (Dyson 79), Rivers, Gredley, Tungate (Bristow 59), Benstock, Pyne (Stowe 28), Cripps, Rothon.

oh well, another day at the office for the also rans, benno and perhaps one or two others excepted, when will we learn, we have to leave the past behind us, what was ok last year will not do this year, Expectations must be levied against the promotion push, everything else is a waste of time other than to assess the fitness of committed players, how many of those played tonight I wonder. we only get beaten when we have other priorities parkie, no doubt you didn't bother to look at our team sheet last night, only one first team regular player on the pitch, coming back from injury. We won't fold just yet it's not due for another six years or so. Worst that can happen is we would drop down a league or more likely play outside the borough. It looks as though we are not destined to meet this season, which is a shame as I am sure a lot of media attention would be attracted and a well supported game would take place. Glad Danny is back for you, congratulations on the manager of the month award. As genuine Boro supporters want you to do well I am sure genuine urchins dont really want us to disappear...do you???

Hang on, what's all this about "drivel", anything I have said on your site has hopefully been general comment, a bit of light banter (which is not a problem between other sites in Ryman Land, ie Stones, Arlow, Stortford, etc, and Enfield T in the ESL), on the odd occasion contstructive criticism, or just responding to some idiot who only has enough IQ to hurl abuse at anyone who challenges anything.

 

I would love a big game with you lot, we could call it say the Havering Charity Shield and get some great PR for both sides.

your obviously a bit thick, we do want other clubs and their fans to join in with our forum fun, what we don't want is jealous crap (look at the post that started this off) we don't gloat if you lose, we only wish other clubs well, we have had years of hard times, we know what its like and we are not getting carried away with our new found success, we just want to enjoy it, there's surely nought wrong with that is there? We are only interested in our own club, and we will defend our club, its progress and its players when other fans get on here and attack us. We know that we have a long way to go but we are enjoying ourselves, join our forum in good faith and you are welcome, attack us and you get what you deserve. By the way, we never (to my knowledge) go on other clubs sites. You will also note that we can take a bit of ragging, read some of the posts, but its all healthy and void of envy, we are in it together. No i'm not a "bit thick" as you say, and if it's the above post you are talking about then the background to that was a bit of humour, not jealousy.

 

It was in response to the twat that keeps coming on the board and calling Romford a "Park Team".
