supporters team v slough town

Yesterday i went to see my mate play in a Lewes supporter team against Lewes X1, as a fundraiser for ground developments.

Thought it might be a good fundraiser for the Trust. Each supporter had to pay to play, it was a fiver to get in (about 100 people there) and they raised about £2,000. Was also a good laugh, and thought it might be something people in the Trust could think about organising to raise a bit of cash.

Yeah, only the keeper looked the part in the last match... If/when we get news about a new ground, could be a good idea!

Radders vs Avery could be funny

You can't be as bad as my mate - his own manager shouted at him after just five minutes - 'you've got the touch of a horse.' Headless chicken springs to mind - still it was a laugh,and Lewes players really weren't playing to their full potential. At one point the supporters lot had 13 players on the pitch, not that this did them any good.

Still, could be a fun way of making cash for the trust ie fun for us lot watching on the sides laughing at you lot.

I'd be willing to buy my way into the supporters' team, if it ever came off. I'd be happy to play at right back again as my speed would be required to nullify the pace of Leon Woodruffe.

I would be willing to pay to play as well. If we did it I think we could auction the places. I foresee a few problems with this however...

Oh I'd pay thousands but only if I was definately facing Avery. I need some goals to boost my confidence!!!

we've played them in the past when the games were called off because the winter weather. We've also had some of the slough team play for us on a sunday mornings to help them back to fitness.

 

one game was supported by the slough first team at upton park ( tony knight played in that one ), Even chopper has had a run out in the past for the supporters ( it was a few years ago )

I suggest you wait until the end of the season. We've had enough injury problems so far this season without Martin being let loose on the first team. Sounds like a good idea though.
