EGM Meeting On Thursday

Very little publicity about this so far, and to be honest, I'd forgotten.

 

EGM at the Polish Club this Thursday (13th) with an 8pm (I think) start.

OK, but that doesn't mean that people will have taken it in or remembered. How many people knew/remembered before Lionel reminded them last night? Not enough. I'd forgotten.

 

We can't rely on presumption. The turnout for the AGM wasn't exactly brilliant, and I can't say I'm expecting good numbers for tomorrow either. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm looking at recording it and making an audio download available at some stage if the trust board agrees and is ok with this.

We are required to provide written notice of an EGM. So we did. If we can't presume that our members have the mental capacity to read a letter and then make a note of the meeting - or crumbs just remeber it for a few days what should we be doing? Personal phonecall, doorstopping?

The whole point of the newsletter was to ensure our members got to hear things first ! AND AS MARTIN STATED THIS IS WHAT WAS REQUIRED OF US FROM THE AGM ...and the trust has acted...

Were you there to propose it? Are you a member of the trust? I think you'll find the answer to those two questions is the same answer to yours.

Stoke Poges Rebel, no it wasn't. Not the one you were talking about anyway. And as Gary says, if you're not there to suggest it, it was always unlikely. Would have thought it would be ideal for you to attend as it's just up the road?

oh did anything interesting happen at the meeting? I would have come, but I had TV watch

The highlight of the meeting was the fire at the back of the building - a car I belive!

 

Otherwise just gaining consent from the members to move things forward.

 

Certain trust memebers in the audiance turned it into a "asking stupid questions" event - if they had listened to what had been said by the committee they would then not made them selves look stupid by asking irelivant questions.

 

These events need to remain on subject or there value is lost, both Mike and Chris did well to try to stick to the agenda, but the brain deads killed the meeting off.

Sounds like a normal Trust gathering really. Board fight to keep things on subject, people ask daft question about totally unrelated trust subjects and it wastes everyones time.

 

Quite glad I missed it.

Just a few comments and notes from Last nights meeting...

 

Members present 36

 

Those in membership of the trust 92 full members 20 seniors and 28 juniors.

 

So a reasonable turn out, and thanks to those who attended and those who offerred their apologises.

 

The main reason the meeting was called was discuse the donation made to the the Trust by Chris Evans...which after consultation and confirmation that this money should be used to help the club through its at times turbelent exsistance.

 

The board proposed that the club should received the money and this was duley proposed and seconded and was passed unaniousmosly by the members.

 

other items discussed were :

 

Match Day raffles

Bucket collections

Poster's (glenn to contact chris please)

Sponsorship

membership drive

Christmas draw raffle

Race night

Slough Town Football Club (supporters Direct)

Community projects and support from our Trust.

Local elections next may 2006 !

 

so all in all quite a few subjects, I hope those who attended had the opportunity to enquire and ask questions.

Yes Chris lots of questions about club matters which we cannot answer as we do not run the club - including the truly brilliant "Where are we playing next season?"

 

And I did not even know that the Trust had a side....
