Sponsorship of STST

Recommended Posts

I have seen a number of posts where the Trust is being asked for sponsorship/donations.

Although in many cases these are valid and resonable requests, was the trusts prime objective to support the club and its immediate intrests.

With this in mind has the trust secured any "sponsorship" from outside sources other than the supporters donations.

My worry is that with limited funds coming in, is it wise to then widly distribute them prior to securing other funding.

I totally support the development of youth football as that feeds the club, as the club feeds higher leagues, but there is only so much in the pot!

I also belive it is good to be working with other organisations as this will give sponsors of the trust confidence that their donation is being wisely used and managed.

This approach is vital if the Trust wishes counil or lottery funding in the future, but partner organisations need to be picked carefully and for the right reasons.

Could any one please clarify the intentions of the trust in regard to these issues?

I think (and I hope I am not misrepresenting him) that Staines Rebel was suggesting was that the Trust should seek to promote sponsorship of the club or at a minimum donations to the trust which in turn can be used to help the club.

In terms of what the trust does in terms of sponsorship and donations this is limited and the board work to certain restrictions. I hope everyone sees the benefit of the sponsorship of Slough Juniors - this has already secured the trust 19 more junior members. Our donations otherwise have been to clubs fighting to save themselves or to other very good causes.

In terms of bringing money into the club and the trust obviously the trust has a hands on role in a lot of club sponsorship and many of our most loyal sponsors are due to personal connections through supporters and trust members. We are keen to develop this as much as possible and there is one idea which we are working on which I hope will lead to stronger connections with some local businesses and hopefully further sponsorship.

Thanks for clarifying this. Having the Juniors there for matches shows the direct link we have and gives the youngsters the oppertunity to see senior football that they can relate to and establish role models from the players, also good to have more amber shirts in the crowd!

Building these links for sponsorship into the trust takes time and I am glad to see that the trust has plans in hand to develop this are of funding/income.

With both the club and the trust developing sponsorship and other forms of generating income it gives individuals and companies/organisations a choice of how they support the club.
