Sponsored Walk

Ian

Recommended Posts

Today I've spent a couple of hours driving round Surrey trying to work out the shortest route between here and Imber Court for those fine boys and girls who have volunteered to walk to Metropolitan Police. Well worth it though, I've managed to knock half a mile from the previous planned route. Never let it be said I don't know how to enjoy my Sunday's!

Just to tempt a few more of you into joining us, it's only 19 miles and virtually flat all the way. Over the next couple of days a complete route will be posted on the Trust website.

It's events like this when it's time to stand up and be counted. The Trust will only be as powerful as it's members make it and it needs your help and support. To volunteer to take part in what is a great event or to sponsor those participating, send a message to trust@sloughtownfc.net.

Thanks for your support

Great stuff Ian. I am sure that will make all the difference! For those of you who don't know I am doing the walk this year. Sponsorship would be greatly appreciated and if someone makes an extra special donation to benefit one and all I will just sit in the bar for the duration of the game. Just kidding obviously.

Someone, I think Andrew, suggested listing those who had volunteered so far for the walk to Metropolitan Police so people could approach them directly regarding sponsorship.

Never being one to turn down a good idea, or indeed offers of money for the Trust, below is that very list. I apologise in advance for ommitting anyone who I have handed a form to and not noted their name or who has only told me verbally. If there are any missing or if anyone wants to join us, please send a mail to: trust@sloughtownfc.net

Gary Thomas, Emma Gammon, Ian Lathey, Kay Lathey, Mark Radford, Graham Taylor, Martin McCabe, Chris Sliski, Chris Boxall, Alan Harding, John Tebbitt, Glen Riley & Dominic Ashford.

Don't forget that for every pound we raise for the Slough League of Friends, my company will match it up to £1,000 so get sponsoring and for those walking, get collecting.

Firstly, apologies to Liam Roche who I missed off the list. Thanks for taking part Liam.

As Gary has indicated, I think we should all have a "walking buddy" so no-one is on their own for the walk. Chris and Martin should make a good pair - I reckon they'll be scrapping before they get to the Co-Op roundabout!

Fine by me.

Given that I could start a row in an empty room perhaps I should be left to my own devices.

As long as there's time to get there in time to kick off then it's never too late to volunteer to take part! Of course, the earlier people join, the longer it gives them to raise sponsorship money and we could do with loads of that!

I can't make Saturday's game but I'll make sure Chris Sliski has a sponsor form to hand over. Cheers Matt.
