New signing

Jill, I heard a different version.

I'm no expert on these FA matters, but I was told something about an iminent approach of illegals or some such. It'll all come out in the wash, no doubt. It's Alan Dowson I feel sorry for.

...

That's just reminded me, I must speak to my Secretary to check if Ryan Kirby's signed yet?

Hi JKiF.

One of the many things that I can't do is put a hand thing link thingy to another web-site, but one thing we advanced HLMT users can do is 'cut and paste'. Here is a message that I left on the Walton & Hersham messgae board

"Greetings and good wishes to you Swans from a Saintsfan in Hertfordshire.

I occasionally contribute to the various message boards on 'Fans Forum' where a prolific poster is 'Iron Webbo', and it is common knowledge that he is Lee Harding, the Chairman of Braintree Town FC.

I cannot conceive why this matter might be of interest to him, but for reasons of his own, no doubt, Mr Harding made postings yesterday on two other clubs' boards - Billericay Town and St Albans City - stating that St Albans City FC had made an illegal approach that has led to the signing Mark Nwokeji. Mr Harding indicated that the matter is under investigation by the F.A.

If this matter has, indeed, been brought to the attention of the F.A. by your club, then we Saintsfans must await the outcome, and accept the findings of the relevant committee and no more should be said in the meanwhile.

If the Authorities are not involved, however, then it would be good to hear from you guys that Mr Harding is in error.

Good wishes from me to you lot for the rest of the season."

I will let you know if there is a response.

Hi AFF

I hope you're not putting ideas in their heads! I'm sure everthing was above board and there was no sign of any brown envelopes.

If we're cutting and pasting I prefer this one by 'johnc' on the same message board:

'I spoke to nockers tonight, he want's to thank ALL of the fans for his two and a half years at the lane, he has enjoyed his time here but feels it was right to move on, " I didnt want to leave W&H, I have travelled a long way to be part of the setup here , but when you get an offer like this , its hard to turn down " when his former boss came in with an offer to play at a higher level he felt he wouldnt be doing himself justice if he didnt try (al a harky and gibby)'

Young Nockers sounds a decent lad, let's get behind him and give him a good cheer at Bognor.

Hi Rob.

Yes, they speak highly of t'lad at W&H, by and large. Pressure on places up front! Ther is a match report on their site of a recenr win when err.. err.... 'Nockers' had a hand in all three goals, showed silky skill wide on the right, skinned the full back etc. etc.

What's Matt 'Matty' Hann done this season anyway?

The point about my posting on the W&H site is simply that a person we all know to be the Chairman of Braintree Town has come on here and on the Billericay site and referred to the FA investigating an illegal approach by our club to this player. If that proves to be, indeed, the case, we must face the consequences. If not, however, and if its a figment of 'Iron Webbo's' imagination, then perhaps he will be more careful before making such statements in the future.

Hi JKiF.

Now listen carefully. Mark Nwokeji has a 'k' but not at the front. Peter Knock has a 'K' at the front. Mark is apparently known as 'Nockers', and Peter is known as 'Knocky'. [it's a football thing'.] One has scored 8 goals for Walton & Hersham this season and is a former schoolboy 200m national champion. The other does the turnstile at the Hatfield Road end at the Fortress, and the scratchcard, and the away Golden Goal.

You're unlikely to get them mixed up actually, as they are slightly different shapes.

JKiF and I have a second dispute to add to the diametrically opposed views that we hold concerning Chris Piper's performance at The Woood against Enfield at the end of the 1999 season [He was rubbish that night].

Knocky isn't an erstwhile gateman at all. He is a current one.

Nockers is an erstwhile player at Walton & Hersham.

Good news!!

There is a response to my posting on the Walton & Hersham message board to the effect that the signing of err.. errr. um... 'Nockers' by The Mighty Saints has not been reported to the F.A.

Remarkably as it may seem, the postings by Lee Harding, the Chairman of Braintree Town FC aka 'Iron Webbo' on this and the Billericay Town message boards have proved to be not entirely, irrefutably, totally and completely accurate on this occasion. Fortunately, no harm has been done or mischief accidentally or inadvertantly caused.

We can all sleep soundly in our beds, once again.

[i wont be holding my breath for an apology.]
