In theory it would provide more floorspace, if the development aside from the pitch itself runs along the length of the pitch. But three floors was plenty of space I thought. If I remember correctly werent there plans years ago to have the pitch running alongside Hartsdown Road a la the upcoming plans?

As Ive said, I would need to see the plans.

"Cookie". answering your 1st post on this thread. I know no more than you ,but, i think you will find that KP always said the plans were dependant on what tenants the London Margate company could sign up for the site, the pitch and other facilities are always going to have to fit in with there needs as they are the ones who will be financing the operation. Provisionaly Misa are hoping to have an open meeting on the 1st of febuary,we shall try and organise a few people in the know to talk to us.As yet it is provisional,i shall get back to you as and when i have full details.

If you turn the pitch as maybe reported, starting from the concrete perimeter wall (swimming pool side) you end up two yards from the perimeter fence the other side!! I realise of course it has the same result if you start on the tivoli side!!

But definitely no room for behind the goal spectators!! Probably not even enough room to take a corner.

It is exteremly unlikely that the council would let any expansion at either side. Probably any new development would have to fit within the current perimeter.

If that really is the case, then it has to be a temporary measure as you will need to be able to have spectators on all 4 sides of the ground to pass the Conference ground requirements.

The tree report can be read here. Its dated 14th June 2002 and gives information about all the trees affected by any move in the club. Its an old report but things cant have changed that much.

Basically it says that the trees can be moved but if the more mature trees have to be moved (and they're almost certainly going to have to) its going to be hard to find the right company for the job as its a specialist job. It has to be done very carefully. All trees moved will have to be replanted elsewhere, if - heaven forbid - a tree is damaged by those works, the trees will have to be replaced, and thats going to be difficult and costly.

My opinion is that if the club really wants to rotate the ground, dont take the trees down. Theyll just have to work out how to have the ground facing downhill towards Tivoli Woods. And that wont be easy.
