That's our season over then

Recommended Posts

yea when I heard that the fleet lot were shouting at the players at the end I thought that's a bit harsh. Think back to Grays and how afterwards we did so much better. Sometimes they have an off game, It's just a shame it was in the F.A Trophy round.

We're not a bad side. 10th in the table.

Exactly. What help is looking back and slagging people off gna do?

Get over it, lets try and get the confidence up for the team, and to save respect regardless who the manager or team is.

At the end of the day we want to win games, and we have none if not then very little input into what goes on in the boards and Liams head, so lets keep out, and encourage the team and get behind them for Friday!

BIG UP THE FLEET

It seems hard to say how this could be the case when our attacking options are so meagre at present.

Er, it was on the May Bank Holiday last season.

Interesting how some people still believe that Daish is a good manager.

The chairman is obviously well pleased with him and our first half performance on Saturday, because when he strangely came to mingle with us idiots in after halftime he was smiling like a cheshire cat (why we asked him and never got a reply)

However, the truth is we are playing such unattractive football under Daish that the crowds are getting lower by the week and we are now knocked out of the only thing left for us this season.

We seem to be going round in circles here. I don't know whether you're advocating removing Daish, but at the end of the day, even if they wanted to, how could the board justify sacking Daish with us 10th in the table? As Stu says, there's an important distinction between results and performances, and the board are duty-bound to act on the former rather than the latter. I'm quite willing to admit that the number of exciting performances has probably diminished from when Andy was manager - but that doesn't make Liam a bad manager outright.

Eh? Is that opinion based on Saturday's game alone? Hodgson's been one of the better players lately, and could be a useful asset in that he can actually cross the ball.

Some decided to leave when we were 3-0 down

As the 3rd goal went in we ventured back to the bar , to find that we were not the first. In fact there were a few season ticket holders who hadn't bothered going back for the second half once they heard about the 2nd goal.

My regret was leaving the bar at half time and not staying with them.

I presume one of the advantages of having the bar outside the ground is that you don't need to close during the match.

Sitting in the stand? What sort of talk is that Wilson?

The more discerning of Fleet fans were all there on saturday. Unfortunately as I was sitting a few rows back and as wobbly as ever it took quite a few minutes , and a lot of help to clamber over the seats and storm out at 3 down.

What's your point FF ? Not going Friday then ?

I shall be there ....looking forward to it.....It will either be 4-1 to the mighty Fleet....or the King Carlos brigade will be setting up the Tyburn Tree outside the Plough again. Hopefully the former !

'ave it !

Cheers,

Something I will never understand. After having paid £10, people just missed the second half?? anything could of happened. There was hope at 3-1 down, esp when Charlie hit the post, and they went down to 10. As it was it didn't happen but you would never have known at the time.
And the fans leaving can hardly inspire players....

Good luck friday, last lecture ends at 4pm so wouldn't get back in time. Watch out for Taits chin.....

It takes all sorts. Do usually stay to end, but saturday was just too much of an embarrassment. rather than vent fury at the players and management team whom were all in earshot, the best remedy was to calm down and have a relaxing pint.

in the past 3 seasons, weston super mare, Bishops Stortford and now Boreham wood. it was just too much to take, and when you bear in mind Hornchurch and Kettering as well, it starts to grate a bit.

As Fleet fans we don't ask for much, but a decent cup run would have given us something to look forward to, and maybe get a few back down stonebridge road. It will be a long slog to the end of the season now, with the decline in attendances continuing.

Maybe it should be the players inspiring the fans to stay ?

So it was. Shows how much I've lost interest in it over the last few years. Can't imagine ever again getting as excited as we all did on that trip to The 'Git which rounded off our championship season.
