Leyton v Slough Town Match thread

awesome awesome game. I was also mystified as to why eddie started josias on the bench, but like Ted, I feel that it was probably a tactical decision which certainly paid off...

other than that agree with everyone else re: masters and avery, they both did extremely well today and the team as a whole should be proud of the performance they put in... in my mind there was a bit of a lull after we opened the scoring, something which may be dangerous against other teams and should be something the boys should look to stop, but other than that a hard fought and hard won victory

In the last game Josias was pushed further forward, more of a midfielder, and IMO Eddie was probably trying to accommodate Chopper, Mason and Alexis in the midfield.

I watched Alexis closely from the start and I don't think he was fully fit and IMO, even though of late his form has dipped a litle, Josias should have started the game.

However good players are, and Josias is one of the very best at this level, it does neither them nor us any favours if they are guaranteed their place. If people are prepared to have a dig at Eddie for sometimes not being tactically aware then they must also be prepared to acknowledge when he gets it right and leaving Josias on the bench was proved spot on.
