Leyton v Slough Town Match thread

Cant belive we won as it felt that they would score a second any time in the second half - however Josias got behind the defence and got the 3 points.

I felt that the ref had a poor and inconsistant game as the handing out of Yellow cards to Slough showed.

Good to see that their number 5 was the best player on the pitch - at least that is what he told us! He can go and tell costas how good he was and that he contributed to their fantastic result - what a ar$e!

Well done to our boys for a hard fought game and 3 great way points.

Started very well and Andy Ballard scores after good work from Chopper. But they applied some pressure with a goalmouth scramble that was cleared off the line, then they miss a one-on-one with Masters.

Just before h-t chopper has a header cleared of the line. Second-half we sat back a lot and seemed to be getting deeper and deeper as the game went on.

Every shot they took though was superbly blocked by one of our four who were excellent second half. In injury-time Chopper cross and Josias the sub(?!) volley's home.

Important win with many other strange results this week as others have said.

I always felt we could get something during the second half as we were attacking quickly and with real purpose. To be fair we always looked like we could concede too but several last ditch sliding tackles and blocks kept it safe.

I'm not his biggest fan but credit where credit is due, I thought Matty Seedal had a great game today. He still can't win a header but really worked hard and hassled their defence. McCleary always looked dangerous and at the back Daly and Avery were superb, particularly the latter. I was also one of the few who agreed with putting Masters in and his handling and taking of crosses was excellent today.

A very, very good win and a quite brilliant finish from Josias. I love football on days like this! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
