'Edwards departs, Davidson joins

Tamworth entertain high flying Conference South side St. Albans at the Lamb this coming Saturday in the FA Trophy.

It is the first ever meeting between the two sides, and Mark Cooper did his homework on the Hertfordshire side during the week by watching their league victory over Histon.

“St. Albans were a good side, I’m not sure how good Histon really were but it is going to be a test for us. This is a competition we can realistically do well in and we will be looking to progress at the first attempt.”

With the departure of striker Jake Edwards, Cooper has brought in front man Danny Davidson who was previously at Crawley and Stafford Rangers but left Crawley to move back his native Midlands after not wanting to go full time with Crawley. Davidson is eligible to play in the Trophy game but cannot feature in The Lambs FA Cup replay as he was not signed before the first game against Stoke.

“He has an eye for goal and we will be looking for him to do the business for us. Matt Redmile and Dave Bampton are carrying knocks and will hopefully be fit.”

The game kicks off at The Lamb at 3pm and usual ticket prices apply.'
