ACFW taking the p***?

Recommended Posts

ACFW have sent the club a cheque for just over £5K for the share of the attendance money at the Trophy game according to the local paper.

A very quick calculation on the attendance of 1,953 (cough!) gives (assuming 1 child per 2 adults):

1,302 x £10 = £13,020

651 x £5 = £3,255

total = £16,275

divided by 2 = £8,137.5

This of course does not take into account the extra cost of stand tickets.

So where's our 3 grand then ACFW?

Hi Rob.

I think you will find that 'expenses' are to be deducted from the gate receipts before the net proceeds are to be divided between the two clubs.

I imagine that the stewards at the Fortress don't cost a great deal of money, but they would at AFCW. In addition, were there police in attendance?

[Oh, by the way. For the avoidance of doubt, my knowledge of this matter comes only from your post.]

I'm not taking sides here - I'm only on one side - but the 'official' attendance may have included 'Officials'. I know one club in the Conference South who adds 60 to the number of people who actually pay to reflect the number of 'guests'.

I don't know how this stuff works but I'm very surprised that AFCW simply sent a cheque with a compliments slip. A covering letter with a simple explanation of the calculations might have saved a bit of bother. But then, what do I know about anything?
