Or have two entrances to the bar - one inside the ground, one outside the ground. The entrance inside the ground would obviously need to remain locked prior to kick-off.

Of course, this is all pie-in-the-sky until we get a new ground as it isn't feasible under the current setup.

Tis true. However I thought I would highlight the importance of showing what the competition in our area are doing.

 

Did you see how much it would cost to go to the Bridge? £45. And thats one thing you can be sure off in the conference, stick with us and our prices reflect others in our league. The Conference just do things better. We don't send people far up north on cold december evenings with the possibility of the game being called off, ask Charlton fans about that one. Consistancey of kick off times and possibly best of all no kissing the badge.

Buying The Plough?

 

Wimbledon had their own pub when they were at their old ground (ironically called Plough Lane!) so thats not too far fetched an idea is it! I have an old Football grounds of the British Isles book from the mid eighties and it would appear that they were making a sizeable profit.

 

We could also buy up all the pubs in Gravesend and run them as a new chain........ Ok getting a bit carried away now! But judging by some of the posters on this board we have enough experience in the licensing trade to keep a hostelry or two going!

 

Mind you how would you get shot of the present tenants? Bet they are raking it in on a saturday afternoon! Ideas anyone? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/alk.gif" alt="" />

Not generally, but the reverse trip can happen. Last season Morecambe had a midweek trip to Crawley and there was snow on the pitch then. Additionally, Accy have an away game at Exeter on a Monday evening coming up. If an earlier postponement of the match necessitated such a move one could understand it, but these two games were of course both moved for Sky coverage.
