Well yesterday now, but....does anyone think we need a couple of decent defenders who are not vulnerable to the ball over the top? Maybe a new keeper too? Braintree's first goal was a long hopeful punt forward, actually very well controlled by their incoming player, and put away, and it was down the right hand side, another goal was conceded on that side too yesterday, as well as at Bedford the other week. Now our approach play can be fairly good to see, but it just goes nowhere. When Saints feel they really must do something (like score and win the game) they usually become a bit more direct. It happened against Chelmsford for albeit 5 minutes, and for a while yesterday, but in the middle of it they let Braintree back in, twice. So teams seem to come to Clarence Park to soak up the pressure, break up the Saints 'pretty' play, then hit them on the counter. Get a bit more defensively minded, and at least perhaps the pressure's off a bit now we're second?

I actually thought we played well yesterday the best for a while. Lets face it on another day we would of scored 7, Braintree were the luckiest team i've seen for ages, I've never known us ever dominate a match like that with no reward. It was a freak result and hopefully it won'y happen again.

Getting a bit worried by the amount of goals conceded by long balls over the top into the middle as well.

We need a right back - Ryan is a good player but playing him out of position will just dent his confidence.

We need a striker who can head the ball well to get on the end of our fantastic approch play.

Richard Wilmot got dropped for 1 mistake against Purfleet, we need to have him back in goal, Roberts cocked up big time yesterday, we need an experianced keeper in especally for Stockport.

Oakes has really played well the last 3 changing the game when he's come on.

Why is Beckett Hollenbeach playing reserve team football ???

the approach play was brilliant, we couldnt finish, in fact the finishing was crap. Dont even mention the defence, never seen a bigger display of [****!!****] in my life. if we wana win the league and beat stockport we're gonna have to do a hell of alotm better than that. bloody hell.
