potters bar v ETFC

I think the pitch and the gale blowing across the bottom end didn't help. My guess is that whatever team kicked downhill in the first half would have won.

I hope the weather stays dry and warm for the sake of Potters Bar's pitch. Otherwise they are going to either lose games on it or players are going to get hurt. I think that might have been on one or two minds last night. That top part out wide was barely playable. Strange how the top was much wetter than the bottom.

Fair play to PB, though. Clearly not a basement team. They seem to have recovered from the nightmare start caused by the managerial merry go round. They'll take plenty more points off top sides, especially at home.

I thought it was because the Referee was wearing his football League kit & not the Southern League one, surely that can't be right???.

Well said that man!!!
I thought it a disgrace that the ref turned out in a kit, apparently relating to his duties with fairground football that, IMHO, was totally inappropriate to REAL football at our level.

Reading some of your comments makes me think that maybe your being very harsh on your team. It sounds like your team didnt show up last night for the first 30 mins or so, but it must be hard being in there boots. You have been destroying teams week in week out for a while now and in my experience its hard to keep your feet on the ground? Right or wrong ?? I would just put it down to a minor fault which will be fixed and will probably make you come back even stronger!!

Enfield Town expects - We have a winning habit and we will dissect every result on here looking to improve our performance with the players we have. That tends to be what happens in a fans owned club. The reason we do so well is because we care and are one team, fans, players and management. But we expect the lads out there to do the business in the same way they expect us to sing our hearts out on the terraces and cheer them on.

I'm sorry I missed the match but expected us to lose, perhaps not as badly as PBTFC were clearly up for it. I spoke to one or two people at the Harlow game and they gave the impression we only had to turn-up and I saw the Corby result was a wake-up call.

We do expect a lot from Chopper because he has over the past 4 years been excellent week in week out healthy or sick(We expect less from Ken - new kid on the block etc). The number of times Chopper has got off his sickbed to keep goal for us has been too many to count. When Chopper is on form he stops 8 or 9 out of 10 shots so the fans do notice when things aren't as good as normal. Chopper was taught his trade at Premiership level and was very close to playing a first team game at that level. If Chopper had been patient and waited for the break there are some of us who really do believe he might have had a chance of being Englands number 1 this June. Andy is Enfield Towns very own son.

You expected us to lose!

What message does that send out?

That I don't think we could win ever game. Unrealistic and PBTFC were on a charge. Let's hope normal service will be resumed on Saturday and we beat Rothwell.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing. Personally I expect us to win every game, that to me is what being supporter is about ( Obviously I know we can't, but why have a defeatist attitude).

Want and expect are different things. I wanted us to win but expected us to lose. We didn't drop a point in December the slip had to come and this was the most probable place against a team Kevin and his staff has watched many times and probably worked out a strategy of how to play most effectively.

On a charge means that they won their last game at Corby! Really! What are they now on having won two games out of two?
