Halifax vs Gravesend latest.....

Recommended Posts

Well we didnt play all that well the ball definately crossed the line with quaileys header infact we were all over you until we had clarkson sent off by that cheating tosser1 (REF) while cheating tosser2 (the lad who play acted to get a fellow pro sent off) rolled around on the floor (puff) all he did was walk past him and your cheating tosser2 fell on the floor and held his head hmmmmmm [****!!****]. but must admit the gravesend goal was a cracking finish . But i thought that sodje let himself down by kicking the ball away after you had scored needless booking but i think he would have got a straight red for the second bookable anyway. Thanks for coming to our place the hundred or so of you who came but most of all thanks for the points we deserved it.

We are part time, and are operating on one of the lowest budgets in the conference, after our financial troubles in the last few seasons, it was the only way we could go.

I had a good view of the Che incident and without a doubt he took a swipe at him and Che got a booking for getting in the way.

As for cheating, what about that slaphead who got Sodje sent off and the time waisting by your players when they scored the second.

Other than that you have a nice ground and a decent set of supporters and club officials.

Considering the number of injuries we have a 2-1 defeat was not a bad result.

Given the number of injuries we have and the fact that the defence and midfield was a bit makeshift (to say the least) a 2-1 defeat wasn't a bad result. We need to weather the next few weeks and pick up what points we can.....which means not letting in soft goals and not picking up bookings due to poor discipline.

The real problem we have is the same as we had last season.......very little up front by way of a consistent goal scorer. That having been said, I thought Boothy ran his socks off and Craig Wilkins was superb - solid in defence and effective as a target man when he went up front in the second half. Great goal by Jacko and good to see Aaron Barnett back. Mark Bentley also showed what a key player he will be when fully fit......and what about that youngster (Carter?) when he came on? Excellent prospect.

As for Halifax......nicest ground we have been to so far in the Conference and some really nice people. Their Chairman in particular was a gentleman and couldn't have been more helpful when one of our supporters was taken poorly.

Looking forward to seeing them come down at the end of the season. Lets hope we both do ok - which of course we will!!!!

Many people have said what a good ground it was, and appearance-wise (except the unfinished stand) it was impressive, but it was somewhat cavernous and perhaps more suitable in terms of atmosphere for a much larger crowd.

As for the match, I'm philosophical in defeat - considering our monstrous injury list, it was a fine performance by the lads. At least there was Jacko's 25-yard screamer as consolation - described appropriately as a 'howitzer of a drive' by today's Non-League Paper!

I wasn't at the game at the weekend so I can't comment on that. But as for the ground, well yeah it is far too big for the crowds we're getting, but that was because when the plans were being drawn up, we were doing well in Division Three and with the rugby likely to draw decent crowds too (especially since every game they play apart from London is local) 10,000+ seemed a reasonable size. As it is now the away terrace, which holds over 3000, is usually populated by just about three figures. If we'd been a little less ambitious (or if we hadn't had crooks in charge) we'd have a finished ground, probably the best in the Conference, with between 8-10k capacity now, which would have been more than adequate.

"The real problem we have is the same as we had last season.......very little up front by way of a consistent goal scorer."

Here we go again....a return of 9 league goals from 13 starts and 3 subs appearances by Che is not "consistent" enough for some people.

F*****G MAKES ME SICK!!

Until Saturday evening, only Yeovil had scored more than us in this league.

There are teams in the Premiership who are crying out for that level of inconsistency! Who the f**k do YOU want to sign??
