Total of 60 goals to date, including 9 in cup games in parentheses. 25 from midfield, as well. Blinding.

Well done to one and all. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" />

And a word for the defence...

28 against in 22 league games. Take out the two 4-goal reversals (pure flukes, anyway) and that's only a goal a game conceded.

I can't be bothered to work out the clean sheet percentage but it must be one of the highest in the division.

Oh happy days... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" />

5 goals for Ram in the last 6 games and 83 for the Saints to date in total. At this rate, we are on course for 104 league goals. Anyone know when we last achieved that figure? A very long time ago, I'd hazard a guess.

I assume that 103 is the record then Webbo.

I smiled at Colin Lippiatt's programme notes last night. Usually I find that the Great Man agrees with my own views [even though I don't know anything about football], but for once we are apart.

He said: "Whilst we can't afford to look further than the next game, it can be useful at this point in the season to have a target to aim for. I'm still confident that we can challenge for the title, but one stage at a time and, to start with, I'm conscious that about 70 points has - in recent seasons - usually been enough to get into the play-offs. We have 59 [written before last night's game of course] with 13 to play, which gives us a great chance of reaching that at least."

70 points Colin? What? That's 0.8461538 points per game. The man's current average is something like 1.87236

At the start of the season, I was hoping for 50 in total to ensure survival. Now, before last night's game, my Plan A would be 98 points. [i do have Plans B, C, D & E up my sleeve, mind.]

I would tell t'lads that if they get to 98 points, I would pay their match fees [£4.50 each] for the last game of the season. Let's see what a little financial incentive can do, to add to the honour of wearing the shirt, of course.

Is the ConfSouth forum working for you?

I've had a few problems with it and noticed that the path to an HTML page had a dodgy name and was asking emails to be sent to conf.south.co.uk (instead of .com).

I suspect it has been hacked.

It seems to have gone down now!

Crikey Walter, that's fantastic! Well done, old chap. 1909/10 must have been quite something. Mind you, it could have been jumpers for goalposts.

As has previously been aired on here, and as you will know only too well, there weren't managers as such prior to the 2nd World War and in the few years following as the team was picked by t'Committee. Interesting that Colin Lippiatt, the most successful manager [of any manager who served more than 5 games at the helm][League games only][sigh] could well fall behind some of the pre-war committees.

No room for Committee photographs in the Hall of Fame in the boardroom at The Fortress, however.
