Exeter commentary

Have to agree Harry, your'e summing ups just about right, the first half forgettable.

What does Coleman bring to the team? he's slow, rarely wins a ball in the air and moves tend to break down once it reaches him, where as someone like Essandoh could link up with his partner and win balls in the air (but then he was only part-time so he obvoiusly wasn't up to it)

We waited to see if any players would acknowledge the travelling fans and as you say it was the usual suspects, would be nice to see Daish make an effort, he did raise his hands and applauded a couple of times so perhaps he's getting the message.

On todays showing I can see why people are getting disenchanted with the performances, though I was told that we played better today than of late,no-one prepared to slow the game down, make a measured pass rather just hoof it and hope.

We went for a point and didn't get one - to be honest we got battered the first half but improved in the second, maybe a point would have been fair enough but if you don't take your chances you can't expect to get anything.

I can't see why Coleman is involved - he offered nothing today and just looks disinterested, if you do leave yourself short of strikers by letting them all leave then you unfortunately have to put up with "performances" like his. Moore made a slight difference when he came on but should have started the game.

We miss Saunders in the centre of the park - Brad Johnson is decent enough wide but looks lost in the centre and gets pushed off the ball too easily.

A hardly inspiring performance and the incident at the end between Daish and the opposition manager isn't the sort of thing I like to see anyone representing the club do.

Coleman did a similar thing earlier on in the second half, perhaps indicating a lack of confidence at the moment. Luke Moore, by contrast, after his display at Dagenham, probably has more reserves of this at present.

Overall, while we had the odd chance to snatch something, we only tested Paul Jones a couple of times, and since Exeter maintained an attacking threat through much of the game, one can hardly begrudge them their victory, as late as it was secured.
