An idea?

Recommended Posts

Surely Not.

If someone already supports a club, they go on a one off to a team because its cheap, and they never return, if anything say how crap the fascilities and the pitch were compared to thei chelsea or their fulham...

So in the long run:

a) The club get a bad reputation from premiership fans who have never been to a ground below CCDiv 1 standard

and B) They loose money from the half price tickets - lets face it not that many fans are going to watch what the odds suggest as crap football, and still pay for it.

That said, Wealdstone receiving £4 from newcomers is a better return than they'd probably get without this scheme (i.e. nothing). It all depends on how many floating fans from other clubs they already entertain on alternate weeks, of course.

The return for the club is good, but what about the die-hard fans who pay their money week-in, week-out? They wouldn't be too happy that first-time fans taking the deal will get £4 off their admission fee whilst they still pay full-price. Long-term loyalty schemes are a better idea in my opinion.
