Seriously impressed by somebody having Garry Aldous in to fit their gutter, Brian Woolfe apparently worked as a joiner so I wonder if he ever knocked up a bird table or magazine rack for anybody here ?

John Kiers died about 10 years ago Wayne - can`t remember what it was that took him. Played against him once when he turned out for Fleet reserves. At final whistle shook his hand and mentioned I was his kit sponsor!

I tried to pm but you have closed access.

If you are still working on the programme with Ash Baldwin, you may have already found out his other love in life apart from fleet is Luddesdowne Cricket club, whom I am also afiliated.

Of main interest, however, is that Fleet legend Tony Towner also played for Luddesdowne from 1981 -1985.

What would be fun is for the Fleet to invite as guests of honour veteran legends of the past as we did with Tony Sitford.

It was brilliant seeing him again, and wasn't the applause genuine, from both us and Carlisle.

Many of the old players would still live locally, so contacting them wouldn't be too difficult , and could be coupled with the article in the programme.

Now THAT would be good publicity.

Lee Turner was playing in goal on Sundays for Gravesend Utd either last season or season before .. he was still very good!!

Played againsted Christian Fordred in the North Kent Sunday League final in about 1988 - South Darenth v AEI. They won 3-2. Chris was still a very good centre forward then. Wonder if he is still living in the area?
