We all know that before yesterdays game Charlie Taylors confidence was low and that miss when he hit the post got his confidence lower. I know that we were shocked and angered by the miss but i dont think it helped his confidence by us all having a go at him i think i was the only person that did not moan at Taylor and this girl standing behind me who said 'bless him, its not his fault and everyone is having a go at him.' If that was any of you lot that did moan at him you would have i am only a human being and that is what Charlied Taylor, is a HUMAN BEING. I think everybodys New Years resolution from now on is no matter how badly the team and players are playing instead of moaning at them is to get behind them and support them. This is what i am going to do now on i am even going to get behind Standen.

 

Come on lads let support the team from now on no matter what.

Its football Alex! Are you looking for some praise for your comments from those that can never see wrong or feel afraid of passing honest comment.

I was not there yesterday but knowing me I would probably have had a go at him too,but it would have been under my breath & not at him. However they are all big boys now,they should know that being a footballer has its ups & downs even with comments on performances.Its up to HIM to shut us up.Its not down to us to improve HIM. He,they or whoever should be going out there next game and working their socks of to put us in our places.

The reason we all have a go is exactly because we care and support the club.We all are different in our attitudes and ways of showing our emotions. ..

Sorry, but criticising bad performances will always be around no matter what club you are involved in.Its not a bad thing to criticise in the slightest if what you are seeing is not as it should be or hoped for or even expected.It should lead to improvement rather than the opposite.

You can't have it both ways Alex. Why is supporters having a go at Taylor for missing a sitter any worse than you questioning the management ability of a man whose record speaks for itself?

I personaly dont think he's a bad player, a bit light weight but he is young. Also at least he is getting into scoring positions. Lets just hope he does find the net as often as i think he can.

I think i have been misunderstood in my last post in this thread i was saying about people moaning at Charlie Taylor for missing that shot. I was also angry at him for missing it but i thought instead of having a go at him like everyone else i decided to tell him to keep going, coz he was angry with him self and it showed and he was chucking a few f words at himself. Also I am not criticising CK but i was puzzled to why he was not as animated has what i thought he was going to be when we was losing 2-1 to a team bottom of the table. However i do take back what i said about CK in another post about getting rid of him as i think that if we got another manager in now things could start getting worse for the gate, but at the time i was angry. I think if Kinnear chooses the right players to feild with the right formation (4-4-2) and players playing in the right position we will start going back up the league. I am going to delete the messages where i have criticised CK but i stand by my words about us supporting all the players out there no matter what.

I strongly agree with you that the right players & the right formation in their correct positions will indeed bring about a vast improvement. If CK dosent know what those combinations are I am sure more than one of us could tell him. Mind you we would end up with different formations though. But he MUST surely see where its going wrong by now & to the errors of judgement he IS making at the moment. You dont need to be a football manager to know where its going wrong.If he makes decisions based on the current form of a player and picks the team with his head rather than with his heart things will improve, of that there is no doubt.

I'm not a gambler(as most will know)l.o.l. but I would put my money on an improvemrent then. Maybe CK should take a gamble occasionally too. Oh, I forgot that he HAS in fact been doing that by his recent team selections. That gamble didnt come off CHRIS so try the more simple approach of playing the correct men out there. Those in form. Shorter odds on a victory and more chance of a result.He is a much much better manager than he is showing us at this time. Get a grip CK and sort it out.

Just watch next game. The same old selections will be made & we will suffer because of it.

After the charlie miss i deliberately looked towards bertie who is captain now. He had some fairly strong reassuring words with him which i liked to asee. he did this very quickly after the miss and i think the boy taylor was distraught. four inches to the right 3 points. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Lets just hold on for one minute,this thread is about Charlie Taylor and now CK is into it,should this not be on the posting that SSS AS ALWAYS posts about CK,for Christ sake when are you going to stop all this,why dont you lot get a grip,I didnt like what happend on Saturday but thats football and have said this before,apart from one or two players CK has had to build a side from players other teams did not want,just ask youself how well could YOU have done,also WE the fans dont know what CK has in terms of money to buy,the buck does not end with him,OH yes Charlie Taylor,a few weeks ago when he scored the winning goal..he was a bloody hero.

As it IS a thread about Taylor Tony I am guilty of mentioning CK in this thread too.Its easy to get taken off course at times.Its not intentional to veer off course.You are quite right in that we should be dicussing Taylor in this thread and no-one else.It happens occasionally.

He wasnt really a hero Tone. It was an unmissable goal really. Yes,we were grateful for his goal. Any goal would bring celebrations but he has done his level best to overshadow the two goals he has scored by squandering even easier opportunities since and generally not getting stuck into games as he should.

Taylor is clearly not a bad player. BUT he is not the player for us at this time because he is too weak to partner Amoako who is also weak but is more Ryman experienced. Hilaire deserves a chance to start and maybe Taylor could make an impact as a sub. It would do no harm to change this up a little.

I disagree with you when you say Amoako is a weak player, the only times he is weak is when he playing up front Charlie Taylor as Amoako is a bit like Michael Owen who waits for the ball and Taylor searches the ball wins it then loses it. When Amoako is up front with Hillaire Amoako sees more of the ball and gets more goalscoring chances. If you are reading this CK there is a hidden hint in this which does not take Einstein to work it out.

Agree with you that Amoako seems to be best at picking the ball up from deep and using his pace or getting scraps off a target player (wont say target man as we have never had an effective one this season).

Having watched every game Charlie has played for us I am finding it hard to continue to offer him encouragement. He must start to show more commitment, challenge for the ball more, be competitive. If he did that it would be easier to forgive the shots that go wide.

 

Now Adolph is a proven scorer, top scorer for his previous club 3 seasons on the trot. He is not finding the net enough for us either. Why?

 

If you look at the type of player he is, you have to say speed yes, height no. So he should be beating the offside and running onto space. Of course that relies on us having someone who can deliver the exact weighted pass.

 

We haven't had a player capable of doing that consistently until Brayley came along. Keister and Standen have been playing long balls from the back, but the opposition have too long to see them coming.

 

Brayley should be trusting Adolph to read the pass and time his run. Then if the pass is the right weight, bingo! I think those two should work well together with a bit more understanding.

 

What we need then is another striker who can win high balls, whether out of defence or in the opponents area. Taylor looks as if he could be that type of player, but he needs to put that bit of extra effort in.

Personally, i think he is very similar to Rocky. I feel it is obvious that he has the talent, but perhaps does not give all he could.

I was standing close to Geoff Pay when Charlie missed that shot and do agree with Geoff. It didn't seem quite so cut and dried to me, after all, the goalie fluffed as it spun and it was spinning on the mud when Charlie hit it. Another couple of inches and it would have been a goal and I guess that Charlie is as distraught as anyone in such a situation. Bertie Brayley realised that as well.

I honestly think Taylor is class he will come good. Trouble is he and Adolf are very much a like. Unless we change formation to suit, it will not change. The strikers are not getting the service. If we continue to play wingbacks, pass the efing ball wide simple. Especialy when they and us are asking for it. This team are begging for simple and easy passing. Look wide, next week we can talk about our throw in's!!!.
