dragged out of the pit at 6am to load the old girl and 30 cases into the batmobile and drive south to the promised land....

 

breakfast at 11ish and much work to stock up the bars after the noo years eve fandango...just enough time to see abbeynut to his executive suite and then it was all orf at kempton as the green hoopes kicked orf into the setting sun....

 

daggsy report tells it all but my reflection is this....wabby are a good team and clever tactics trying to get behind our always narrow flanks....contender for goal of the season from nickie cowley and second half we could and should have scored 3/4 more...wabby hit the bar but in truth flattered to deceive and urchins worthy winners.....

 

wabby may well do better if their players spend more time on their feet instead of writhing in agony on the ground and haranguing the referee....but hey...why be churlish after a good win...good day all round.....

 

rambling bonkers drew as did tilbury and barkingmad.....

 

nice to see the ramblers at the ground again but hey boys...stay for a drink with us next time....

 

well done pinnacle and the gang and well done urchin faithful.....

 

fckn superb.......

I never intended to say that Abbey were anything other than a very good team. Without a doubt they are the best ESL opposition at the Stadium this season (I missed the Burnham match here so cannot easily comment on them, but the away match at Burnham suggests to me that both Ramblers and Abbey are more suited to a higher standard of football.

 

Having said that, the Urchins deserved their win, and could have won by more - and a special mention to MC in goal - yet another clean sheet.

 

And a special mention also to our off and on floodlight - it's now nine matches in a row - one more and it gets into the guiness book of records.
