Right. We all know you have said it before.It as been noted ,and i dought we will forget it.We all know where you stand,once again.i will put forward my old plum of freedom of speech and the responsibilities that go with it. Freedom of speech is a luxury we have in this country,it is something we should cherish and not abuse.This was brought home to me again the other night when i picked up (in my (not to upset hackney drivers)Licenced private hire vehicle)a very very attractive young African lady with a young child who had been forced to leave Mugabe's hell. Her husband dead, she herself pregnant at the time and beaten near to death. She is an educated lady speaks English well and i am sure she will do well given time to get well and with help. Their crime, to speak out about their conditions,govenment and the lack of free speech.What i am trying to say is do not go over the top. Believe me the powers that be and players read your comments. You may call me pompous or what ever ,but do not forget,from the comfort and security of your home/office you are not just talking to the members of a closed forum, but one which is open to the world,and read by many.

As long as we stay up this year then I don't think a change of manager would be worth it. Next season will be a much better indicator. One gripe I would have is that it would be nice to sign the majority of the squad before the last week of pre-season. This has happened so often and it might hinder us a bit.

Yes Porka. I agree with you in that before the season ends we need a squad of good players assembled, all signed up ready to go next season.

All having got used to each other in pre-season training and for them to come out on the first game of next season as a unit that understands each other and how the play alongside one another & understand to how each other thinks.Ramsgate are a model example of that this year.We will then be ready for that title challenge next season.Brayley is the start of that,now we want more of the same or near to the same gelling BEFORE the season has finished but more importantly for next seasons kick-off.

Sorry to butt in, but wasn't it stated that the embargo was the reason we couldn't get players early enough? If that is so, you can't blame the manager.

 

Perhaps you could say Mr Piper was too slow in getting the new investors on line and the CVA in place, but personally I am just glad he managed to do it at all.

 

There is reason to be hopeful for the future and we still have a club to support. Who expected that this time last year?

Blueblood, I totally agree with your posting and it is one of the most important I have read.

To reinforce your point, some weeks ago and quite by chance, I met and had a conversation with a close relative of one of the players. The player and his close family relatives had read items on the forum that were untrue and unpleasant.

Understandably their reaction was anger and disgust. They were unable to reply and rectify the situation. However they accepted that not all

Margate supporters behaved in such a way. In fact the player was grateful for the support he had received from those appreciative fans. The players, officals and management do accept that honest and fair criticism is part and parcel of football.

When it goes over the line into outright abuse and gratuitous hostility it is not acceptable.

Blueblood, I do agree with you that in using the forum we do need to exercise a sense of proper responsibility. In doing so we can all enjoy debating the joys of watching Margate in an atmosphere of mutual respect and goodfellowship.

Can you p.m.me as to where I can find that post to which you are referring Zhukov please. Am interested to know exactly what was said. Of course we dont want it coming up again on here,whatever it was,but I am interested to see it.Apart from a couple of inaccuracys I cant remember anything else being said that should be harmful or abusive to a player other than that about his form. Maybe I missed it or maybe it is what I was thinking off. Would be obliged if you could direct me to that posting that you refer to. Of course this is only for me to see and nothing I see or read will be mentioned on here.Hence the p.m.

Its just my curiosity.
