I never said i was a fan of all The Who's output. Some of which has been a decidedly iffy. But 'Who's next' is a superb ablum.Recorded at the peak of their powers and years ahead of its time.It is rightly in most lists of the 'greatest ever albums'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/classicpop/reviews/thewho_next.shtml

Live at Leeds is easily one of the best live album ever produced, and great sound quality considering it was recorded 30+ years ago.

Whos next - brilliant. so good my 16 year old has copied it! Baba O reilly and behind blue eyes - absolutely ace.

Glad to see someone else is a Love fan MK. Alone again or - favorite single of all time. Forever Changes featured in Q's 100 Greates Albums of all time as was who's next. Not converted 16 year old to that yet tho.

Only upset no one has mentioned the Doors yet.

I'm more suprised that YOU mentioned them.

Lets just say, that with The Doors, you had to be the at there time.I don't think the Doors music has aged well.I doesn't seem to apppeal to other generations, like some of the other bands we have mentioned.

Unbelievable. Get yourself a copy of Richard and Linda Thompson's 'I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight' usually available for about 7 pounds (the pound key doesn't work on this damn keyboard). It's brilliant. Unless of course you don't like folk that is.

I will see if I can 'obtain' a copy.

Anybody on here a fan of the Levellers? I think their music is excellent and having seen them perform twice I can say they are a great live band.

Steve Winwood - A Voice that I never get fed up with any of the bands he has been with or solo except that bloody awful dance thing from last year.

To be fair, I think it was only a sample, admittedly with Winwood's consent (probably), but it wasn't really a Steve Winwood track.

What about Carter USM who actually got into trouble with the Stones for the line Goodbye Ruby Tuesday/come home you silly cow from the song 'After The watershed'.

He re-recorded his vocals for the track and I still don't like it, video wasn't bad though!!!

I accept that some of the more obscure stuff has not aged well but Riders, Light my fire ( the long version) Roadhouse Blues, Lost little girl, LA Woman etc etc still has massive appeal hense its constant play on Virgin, VH etc.

As for not appealing to different generations why are they featured in Q magazine as mentioned above and try telling my daughter who has burnt stuff on to her MP3 player.
