The same old story

The the 'permanent' plans show a health centre in front of the new Hartsdown Road terrace. The pitch is moved slightly to leave space for it.

That's just my interpretation from the plans. Maybe the club will enlighten us.

We were getting 1500 crowds in the conf, so in L2 perhaps 2000-3000, depending on league position. A good stadium will help. This is counting chickens really, isn't it?

I can help here. The link I posted earlier shows what the stadium will look like. The space left by the now deceased health centre will be a concourse. The plan there also shows where the complex will be. Go to the revised drawing of the Stadium Plan. The reason why it has to moved at all is because it makes more space for the traffic. Its not much of a move though, a matter of meters.

There is a rumour about rotating the ground by 90 degrees. I am as sure as Ill ever be. I dont think its a good idea. Of course Ive been wrong about the development before but Im very sure about this one. Itll lead to delays in the project not to mention getting up the Councils nose.

The plans detail which parts are covered. If you have a flick through the various plans, you can work it out.

EDIT: I thought it was in the plans but clearly its not there. It just says how many people will be in which parts and whether its seated or standing. Unfortunately a lot of the promised files arent actually on the website (e-government my ass!).

Was just about to post that it says file not found when I click on any of the elevation parts of the plans but see you also cannot access some areas. No use looking at the roof plan (which works). There doesn't appear to be any roofs given for the changing facilities so the rest of that file I'll take with a pinch of salt.

I just hope and pray that all will be well at the end of the season, At the start of the season all was positive that the new ground improvments would be ongoing at the end of 2005 or at least the start of 2006 but it seems the excuses are beginning to surface again. Comment in Gazzette our wage bill is twice the amount as Folkstones and we are doing no better than them. Also I note that our beloved COUNCILS name has sprung up yet again.

i spoke with ken tonlinson on new years eve at the club(great night by the way) he advised me that the pitch is to be turned around at the end of the season and that pitch needs to be at least 100 metres in width so would be going into land behind the temp stand. Sorry havent been on much but HAPPY NEW YEAR to all on the forum!!

The plans say the playing surface will be 64m by 100m.

How much is it being turned round by...90 degrees or 180? I know we had a joke about the 180 but its an option. Im a little confused here on whats actually happening and where everything is going. Its not particularly clear. Can you explain a bit more eyebaulpaul?

The UK Planning site does not have any plans where the pitch is rotated.

For those who are worried about why there are delays, Ive got in front of me the conditions attached to the permanent stadium that the Council approved. Before anything can be done in building it, an archaeological history needs to be recorded, a contaminated land assessment and remedial strategy along with timetable of works need to be submitted and approved (its a long condition that takes up the best part of a page), agreeing design and method of means of access, precise details of the parking and turning areas for buses, details of hard and soft landscape works need to be submitted to TDC and approved (there are lots of subsections there but Im sure you can work it all out), details of earthworks need to be submitted and approved by TDC, samples of the materials being used externally need to be submitted and approved by TDC, details of foundation designs including emergency access and associated bits and pieces (fire hydrants, command centre etc) to be submitted and approved by TDC, submission of plans for disposing of foul and sewage waste need to be submitted and approved by TDC.

This is not to mention the Section 106 agreement (environmental control) costing 15 grand, as well as having an agreement about community use of sports facilities and implementation of a Green Travel Plan.

There are 29 conditions attached. As I said before, its going to take a while. So in a sort of defence of Keith Piper here, hes got a lot on his plate before anything can be done. Lets give him till the end of the season. Hes got time.

And confusing! Do you even, understand it all James? What you are saying or quoting is that all these things are yet to be sorted out.I would have thought all this would have already been done well in advance and all sorted out by now.Maybe it all SOUNDS more than it actually is anyway.

I do understand it. What I posted above was the gist of the conditions that have to be solved before construction can be done. The full conditions and the detail with it explains what is required so while it all sounds complex up there, it isnt as complex, its just a very large number of them with subsections and bits and pieces to deal with.

Im sure KPs working on dealing with them but as I have sad, there are a lot of conditions that have to be met. If the rumours are true that the pitch is to be rotated, then theres no point to fulfilling the conditions.
