Both teams looked as though they'd rather be somewhere else but livened up in the second half.

 

City's 'old guard' did well and contained the Stortford forwards. Hann and Clarke eventually did the business with a bit of help from 'Shearer' aka Ben Walshe.

 

Well done to t'lads and 3 points justly deserved.

We seemed to take an age to get started with Bazza making two crucial stops early on but moved up a gear in the ten minutes before half time. Whatever Sir Colin said at half time certainly worked. We came out of the blocks from the off and once Clarkey had put us in front, there was only going to be one result. Really pleased for him. Great second goal from Ben Walshe, who I thought had a good game and the third, rifled in by Matt Hann, after a snaking run. My MOM was Matt Hann, who caused trouble for the Stortford defence all afternoon.

Very pleasing to get to the game, being Boxing Day and all that, a very good result, 3 points and movement up the table.

The defence played well especially the two central defenders, pleased also for Clarkey to get back on the score sheet, he took it very well.

Will be a stiff test this coming Saturday, but I am quietly confident that "The Chosen One" will pull it off.
