Chris Sliski - steps down from Trust Board

After almost 26 years...I will step down from The Trust's board...at the end of the current season.

I have thought hard and long about this...and with all that goes on in the world of Slough Town its quite impossible to carry on...especially those who think they can do better, I have to say you proberly can.....

I don't have the knowledge or the expertise to maybe take the trust forward, so with this in mind I will step down at the end of the current season. This will give enough time for those who feel they can do better to move onto the board.

its been fun at times but also a lot of hard work...

good luck...

That's why the trust was formed !

Its your trust, your contributions, your support your help..without it..we are nothing..and its quite clear the support towards the trust is under attack from quite a lot of people these days....who think that we are so close to the club we have all the answers to our woe's and troubles...

but I can you we have not...

We need new direction and input from those who seamed to have all the answers...that is why I have dicide to step aside...simple as that...I know and respect that each and every supporter has a different view's on how we should go about things...well is the time and place to stand and be counted....

I think after 26 years I have tried and failed....I have become tired and weary of having to justify what the Trust has to do and acheive....

If you don't come forward the trust will be dissolved and then we can all do other things as Slough Town FC will not even have a second chance if the day arises to rise from the ashes....as there will be no trust to call upon...now thats what i call no future...

I think that most of the criticism originates from the club's failure to communicate, some of which, probably unfairly rubs off on the trust as there is an exdpectation that the trust should somehow be able to make everything better.

Chris (and presumably the trust board) obviously has/had a view that the trust should work as closely with the club as possible, even if the club's tactics and future were uncertain, if not on occaision bizarre.

Has anyone got a better way forward? Criticism is easy, but I havn't seen an alternative strategy proposed and discussed yet.

Like most supporters I am frustrated by what is happening, but what different actions should the trust take? Its sensible to come up with a new direction before changing the current one.

A new direction for the trust might be appropriate, but what should it be? If nothing feasible is identified, it would be premature to reject the current way of working.

Much as i take the pi$$ Chris I would also like to say that you have always been a superb help to the Trust and the club- in fact i remember you and Alan being a great help when i was trying to get to away games aged 12 and have always helped others in a similar way....

But it's so much easier for people to sit on their ar*e and criticise rather than actually do anything about it - it's called adopting the 'Janik Principle'. Unfortunately, there's several people on here who seem to have got it off to a fine art.

It's a shame that's something you feel you have to do Chris - can I take this opportunity to thank you personally [and on behalf of Windsor & Eton] for all the work you have put into fostering a good relationship between our two clubs during the groundshare and for the work you have done [with other Trust members] at Stag Meadow.

'TALK' is cheap, people like you who 'DO' are the lifeblood of non-league clubs!

Thanks,

Steve.
