Blast!! Was hoping that game would go to extra time actually. Might mean a few injury problems for them for next week's game.

You should have tried going and standing in the library that is the Rec for 120 minutes! I was really hoping for pens, still at least it meant I got home before midnight.

The goal was coming all through extra time, especially after they brought Slabber & Hooper on. Nikki Bull saved the original shot but Glenn Poole followed in and stuck it into an empty net.

The quality of the game was quite poor, and it only livened up towards the end of normal time. Grays dominated extra time and always looked the more likely.

Attendance of only 852, shows what some poor results do to the fickle fans!

I listened to a bit of the game on the radio (it did sound very quite) and they made plenty of comments about the pitch being very bumpy, hope it`s not going to ruin our game. I see Tommy Williamson played almost all the game, i wonder if he`ll get a game against us.

Aldershot`s David Lee was doing part of the commentary, he hopes to have the plates in his ankle removed in January and if all went well he could be fit if Aldershot made the play-offs. Good luck to him.

Nothing to do about people not knowing about the game and the fact it was just before Christmas??

Guarenteed if this was a scheduled league fixture the total would be nothing like last nights.

Actually lets now have a look at your last 4 home saturday fixtures.

646
842
664
413

Shows what happens to crap clubs like yours.

Hold up Stimmo!

Your giving it... christmas is coming up as a reason for low attendance. What? Do you think christmas is only celebrated in fuc*ing Grays or something?

Actually, i think you may have a point. All your scummy chav fans (thats most of ya) thought they were running out of time to nick stuff with christmas coming up so this was their last chance for some christmas 'shopping'! But it clashed with a game so it was a hard decision. But needs must so they've been out nicking cars and purses all night!

I think i would buy that excuse!

No but Aldershot fans were actually quoting Christmas as a reason for alot of their fans not travelling to the game aswell.

The same applies to home fans not sure what land you live in mate to think that this isnt a busy time of the year, family visits to Feltham Nick dont make themselves. Nor as you say do Christmas theifing sprees.

In all honnesty your club has a larger catchment area of fans than our club and the fact that you have been in the "big time" longer than us and still only manage 800 fans at most games is laughable.

If your theory of fickle fans is right and we only manage 800 fans per game from now on then I will bow to your predictions but my belief is that we will be around the 1500 for most of the remaining home games.

What do you mean larger catchment area you plum we have a small island a little of Benfleet & Basildon.

You have Thurrock, Tilbury, Feltham, Bellmarsh and half the sewers between here and Millwall. In addition you have the glory hunter rejects from the rest of South East Essex non league sides and a few who have been slung out of brothels along the docks.

The difference between Canvey and Grays??

We have crowds of supporters, you have gangs of chavs.

How many real non league and league clubs do you have near you?? You say your a small island but it quite well populated, Pitsea and Basildon are not exatly small and Neither is Benfleet, Southend only get 8,000 odd fans so there are plenty left over for your lot.

All main areas round us have there own non league side, Tilbury, East Thurrock, Thurrock, Hornchurch (450 odd a game), Aveley that not discounting us being closer to a main line station and london meaning losing more to premiership sides.

I would like to see actually how many teams per mile we have to contend with I bet it is by far and away more than you have too.

To be honnest attendances dont really bother me, its about what happens on the pitch and to be honnest your not really making waves there either.

As for having Chavs as fans, look in the mirror mate your stuck in the middle of a cross roads of Benfleet, Basildon and pitsea now unless the road to you is that the Wardrobe is to Narnia I reckon you have a few Chav fans yourself, infact I know you have.

While we are here your lot managed to spell Judas yet??

Both clubs ought to be better supported than they are - that's a fact. However, I don't really give a toss about Grays but I do wonder what our club is doing about the relatively low attendance at most home games.

In each of the Ryman Leagues we have been in our attendance figures have been impressive. However, since moving up to the Conference we have not picked up that many new faces. It's one thing to exchange insults with people from Grays (I won't join in; too easy!) but unless there is a lot of thought at Park Lane about the present support situation, I can't see that we can affort to continue paying Conference wages.

Any thoughts?

I know we are rivals but on a Non league front there must be a large number of "football fans" who support Premiership clubs but never go, that is the source you have to tap into, like wise with us.

The thing is you are never going to instantly gain 200-500 fans in a blink, these fans are more content to sit at home and live off Chelsea results than go to a football match. It makes them happy, where as for us fans it is different.

We are going thru a purple patch because of relative success and no doubt it may waive a little. I honnestly think thou that last nights attendance was in no way a true reflection of how things are, 1 it was a tuesday night (always lower crowds) 2 it is so close to Christmas 3 as a replay not many people knew it was happening 4 it was the Trophy, I love it but not many rate the comp
