December 20th, 1947. The 9-1 away victory at Aylesford PM, I presume was eclipsed by the 9-0 at Eastbourne T. in the Cup in 1969. Am I right in saying that the victory at Eastbourne is our biggest ever away from home?

Talking of away cup matches am i correct in saying that Margate hold the record for the biggest loss? The game where Ted McDougall banged in 9?

Another stupid post by FF. 11-0 is not the biggest Cup loss in the FA Cup Proper, although Ted McDougall's 9 goals stil stands. Now what have Ramsgate achieved in the FA Cup? Sweet FA

Gotta say the trains were pretty good yesterday, going from Margate to Barnehurst. Bit of a worry trying to wing it returning without knowing anything about the timetable after 8 but made it back through the skin of my teeth. I was just a slightly bit worried about the idea of being stranded at Gillingham last night. Thank God for the guy who was on his way back to Thanet who helped me out.

How could you forget our 11-1 win at Royal Marines Chatham on 1.2.33 JJ ? I'd have thought you covered that game for the World Service, just after a cracking episode of Dick Barton Special Agent or something. Anyway, I have that as being the record away win.

 

Next in line is a 10-0 at Deal on 6.12.47 and then the 9-0 at Eastbourne on 28.10.67

Just for interest (if anybody is interested in this) I am pretty sure that I remember Margate Reserves beating Beckenham by around 13-0 in a cup game of some sort in the early 1950's. I think that Beckenham had a chap wearing glasses playing for them so we are ahead of Spurs on that one.

 

Oh, and it's nice to see Barnehurst mentioned on here.

Mind you, we did have Eric Worthington with contact lenses didn't we?

I think my father went to that game. The other side had to get some bloke from a train journey. Of course he could kick his way out of a paper bag. May have been 14 not 13. I believe most of the Beckenham side didn't arrive on time because of bad weather.
