okay...a tale from the forest...

just arrived back and have had a chance to reflect....

 

we didn't play well today and I agree that romford are very average although full marks to 'em for spirit.......but we did what we had to do and scarpered with the three points so a very well done to the boys on achieving our new year goal of topping the league...we have done it early and we lead by 8 points... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 

the game was scrappy and with no width from either side...reasonably clean and in spite of romford protests I shall say quite genuinely that the ref had a decent enuff game so apologise to her and to Mr Sec for what I said previously....yes the pen was soft but it was a pen....some you win and some you lose but some of the comments about her coming from the home support were...in my opinion...over the top...

 

the points went to the best team in a poor game...

 

one of the romford chappies said to me

 

'waltham abbey are better than you lot'

zody...nice to meet you mate and you are obviously doing a sterling job with the kids...but I still don't agree with it before a match....

Well done Zody and other helpers, my son was one of the Barn group today and I know they all enjoyed themselves, and yes he is a urchin.

calm down esu...long way to go yet and two big chrissie games against in form brentwood and rampant wabby to come.....methinks its an important two weeks...

 

blackball...as you well know we as a club are committed to the young 'uns and most certainly from what I saw yesterday the kids had a great time and as I have already said ..full marks to zody for all his efforts....(save him saying it) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

you may well have noticed however that the pitch on the stand side was totally carved up by these kids and also at half time they were running riot all over it....the players mentioned at half time that it was very bobbly down that side and as I have said...there is a time and a place for the young 'uns and its not on a a well prepared pitch (well done groundman) before an important game....
