AFCW 2 - 3 SACFC

In reluctant agreement with this womble, I must admit I found the MK songs a shade embarrassing on Saturday, as I did the songs about them not owning their ground.

After all, we don't own ours, do we?

Having said that, the attendance figures that AFF posted yesterday appear to speak for themselves. It's quite obvious that AFC shaved a few off the gate, but then I think everyone does, don't they?

Boston '99, for example?

attendances:

I think you'll find I ddint bring it up , it happens tho ' ....is it justified?, some people think so

you denied you had a hooligan "problem' again evidence suggests otherwise, (by your own admission you have a problem at away games )

i agree about the MK thing after all i have been one of the more voiceferous supporters against MK dons, taking cambridge city

to task pre-season is one notaale example

now words and actual violence are 2 seperate things im sure you'd agrree which is the worse

as for my "efm" fk -all to do with me son so do yourself a favor and "jog on"

And still you refuse to listen, or read for that matter.

1) Just because some clever dick posts our league gates next to our cup gates, does not mean we've fiddled Saturday's attendance. League games traditionally attract more supporters than cup games, not to mention the fact that season ticket holders are obviously not included in cup crowds. But don't let that stop you, after all, Saturday was the highest attendance of the round, including a load of big conference sides like York.

2) I never said 'we don't have a hooligan issue'. I admitted we do attract a few idiots, as do most clubs. My point was, if you care to read my post properly (for a change), that trouble at HOME games has been non-existent.

Oh and drop the 'Football Factory' act.

your just coming across a sad and bitter loser

o well, enjoy the rest of the season spouting more bollox

I don't know about 'clever dick', cambridge womble, but that was me what posted the crowd numbers.

Now is there any likelihood of you amswering my question, which I will repeat for you.

You stated that "half the Saints supporters were more interested in the Luton score at half time". What do you base that statement upon? Let me try to help you here, old chap. You might have been standing somewhere with a radio in your ear and 35 people wearing yeller & blue asked you for the Luton score at half-time. That would be an answer to my question.

I await your reply with keen and eager anticipation.

AFF - I was there - I suspect that the half he mentions was in fact Harding's Minion who may have been in an advanced state of refreshment on account of his impending birthday and was therefore proclaiming "The Town".

I hope I have been of assistance. £200 plus VAT thank you.

A good day was had by all.

Hi mdet.

I'm even more confused. JKiF has admitted showing some interest in the Mighty Hatters that day, and so did HM, it would seem. That's 2. The womble from cambridge stated that "half of the Saints fans" did. You were there as was EFMTFTV.

Surely there were more than four of us at the match?

Right, think on this. According to Kingstonian, the current ground capacity is approximately 4,500. Forget all the season ticket bull$hit, just answer me this. Was there room for another 2,547 bodies in the ground last Saturday?

A bit of manipulation with the crowd figures on cup games I think we can accept (we all know it goes on) but even if you said the capacity was, say, 4,000, this was still a serious pi$$take. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

About 300 seats empty.
Room for about 400 more in the Tempest End (very uncrowded compared to many games I can assure you)
Room for about 600 more in the Kingston Road end.
Room for about 800 more down the far side.
Room for about 400 more in the corners and alongside the main stand.

But it's quite simple. I know the figure was correct. If you know it wasn't present your evidence to your club and get them to complain.

The thing that makes me laugh is not the fact they shaved the gate figure it's the fact that they are coming on so holy than thou, like I said everyone does it, was there just over 800 against Kettering, bollox was there, the crowd at Stockport was never that, I was once shown the correct gate figures for a couple of crowds in the 90's nowhere near what was declared!

As for the MK Dons chants, like I said I was a Wimbledon fan and haven't really taken much intrest in either team since they were discracfully moved to MK but the chants are banter and happen to every team about every subject associated to that club whether good or bad!

There wasn't a huge amount anyway - Pub team from Bletchly was one but is hardly that bad, most of them were about having the turnstyles from Plough Lane in our ground and stuff about 88 which is mpre a piss take at you nabbing Wimbledons history!

Why not either

1) complain to your club and get them to take the case up or

2) Come out directly with the accusation that our finance director defrauded you, providing sufficient personal detail that he can sue and then we'll get to the bottom of it.

I support and help our club on the basis that we do things properly, we aren't run by a dodgy businessman (not that I'm suggesting you are) and we don't fiddle gate figures. You bet I'm holier than thou about it, partly because it sounds like we are and partly because it does matter.

This debate is becoming very boring, but I'll add this question to you, OI. [well, two questions, actually]:

Were you at the match on saturday? Did you feel that the declared attendance of 1953 or whatever, was 'about right' based on the evidence of your own eyes rather than the absolute faith that you have in your bean-counters?

Absolutely, if I'd had to guess before it was announced, I'd have said around 2000. The Tempest End was significantly less crowded than against Hendon, there were fewer of you then there were from Hendon (in the Kingston Road end at least) and missing season ticket holders aren't counted for cup matches.

That's an end to it as far as I'm concerned then OI.

Several of the Travelling City faithful have commented upon the degree of all-round organisation at your place - you are better prepared for Conference football than many in the Conference North & South, I have no doubt.

Good luck to you lot for the rest of the season from me.
