AFCW 2 - 3 SACFC

I for one believe that at least 500 supporters at Wimbledon buy season tickets, but don't go. I also believe that the cup gates declared are accurate and are not 'seasonally adjusted' to reduce the visitors share of the gate. I further believe that Wimbledon get an extra 700-1000 for Ryman League matches against the likes of East Thurrock United & Redbridge. Finally, I believe that there has never been any crowd trouble at games involving Wimbledon.

Good win by the way.

1) I thought you were the better team and just about deserved a win but they were two definite penalties (much clearer than the one given, which was on the line)

2) If there were incidents outside the ground, the rest of us can only apologise. The troublemakers may well be banned as those who tried to cause trouble at Dartford and Hampton have been. Hope the police deal with them.

3) Crowd figure looked right to me. We could have got 300 more just in our end. But if you think it's wrong get your club to complain, don't make rash accusations when you haven't seen other games in the ground. I suspect you'd find your officials have seen a proper accounting and accept the figures completely.

ha, ha, pub team. Will you still be saying that when we're in the same league as you in a couple of years time? Because there is no way that you are going up, we'll be up in the conference south soon enough (not this year but maybe the year after).

Oh I get it now, pub team, you meant St.Alscum, glad you summed them up so well.

Look forward to playing you again, maybe you will actually manage to get into our half more than 4/5 times next time.

I wouldn't call it fun! What a grotty place it is, the area, not just that horrid pub.

There was an incident in the second half where one of the "1900" opted to stand in our end. Costello kicked him and said something about Channel 4. The guy walked off.

I can see AFC becoming the next Aldershot in three or four years when they finally make it into our division. It seems to be a common attiture amoung fans that have supported old football league teams.

How was Thornsy later on? He seemed to have had too many ciders when I left him.

Total nobends whose only intention was to try and wind up our fans from the start.

I hope everyone associated with your club catches a horrible desease and their heads fall off!

That comment reminds me of Noel Gallagher's rant about Blur "I hope you all die of AIDS" all them years ago.

Cambridge and Hereford have a bit of a rep as well. I suppose it's alot like Aldershot with AFC taking nearly 1,000 to these Dog and Duck grounds. Must attract a few hoolies who know with no proper stewarding or policing they can cause absolute chaos.

Must adimit, your burger bar is the best iv been too. Didnt have to pay a penny for it. Never the less the dons fans came up to me in the bar after the match to wish us well for the future which I thought was good. Just a shame that everything involved with the club e.g. programmes and beer was a complete rip off.

Confrence South you're having a laugh.

So we aren't witty but you use the boring predicatble dull 'soccer AM generation' chant in this post

Personally I don't really care what the crowd was given as as we all know that every team fiddles cup gates, we've done it loads of times, AFC evidently do it as well, it just takes a brave man to admit it!

Everyone I spoke to after the game including players and supporters of both St.Albans and AFC said the same thing, the pen given wasn't a pen while the one wasn't was, nice to see it even itself out in the game for once rather than the cliched 'over the course of a season'

There were a good 200 City fans there, some were in the main stand as well, so the idea we had 70 must of come from the same person who counted the entire gate! And how ironic for AFC Wimbledon for all their history (FA Cup winners 1988) to go on about our small crowds when they hold the records for lowest attendences in the premiership and championship!

PS, I looked for the trophy cabinet and didn't see any refrence of that FA Cup win or the old 4th division championship trophy, maybe if you want people to like you then stop nicking other clubs histories!

As for your thugs, although apart from some bloke at Norbiton station, who I'm not 100% convinced was a AFC fan anyway, I saw no trouble (unless you count the idiot who came into our end but I think everything we said to him went straight over his head anyway) but there obviously was some and you have a reputation whether you like it or not, even your manager said so recently in the local press!

As for the ref, I didn't really notice her too much in the game and that's a sign of a half decent ref. As for outplaying us, now I know your wearing them AFC Specs (the same specs that count the crowd, the away support, selective pen appeals, hooligans and club history) as our football pissed on your long ball ryman tactics, of course you gave it a go (biggest game in your history, even bigger than the 88 cup final) as expected but we didn't really get out of 2nd gear which was evident when we upped the gear after going 0-1 down and 2-2!

And for your information Wimbledon used to be my second team, I made many an apperence down Selhurst in the 90's, the 1-0 win over Man U in that FA Cup replay still goes down as one of my best games ever. I wasn't happy when we moved to Milton Keynes either and haven't seen either team since (apart from Sat, of course) but do look out for both teams results, although after Sat I may not be wishing AFC too much luck in the future, hardly the crazy gang spirit of old!

Ah well it was definitely your second team if you fell for the Crazy Gang marketing. The Frannies get excited about that and about Womble Armies, something else we never went for.

I think you deserved your win, just.

The guy in charge of our crowd calculations / finances is a retired partner in one of the big accounting firms, he'd consider fiddling the crowd to be on the same level as beating up opposition fans. Anyway, get your officials to complain if you're sure they were wrong, I know they were right.

Said I'd leave it at my last post, but EFM, your ignorance is infuriating. You continue to make accusations of attendance-fiddling without any proof whatsoever. What's worse is you happily admit that Saturday was your first visit to AFC Wimbledon, so just how you can have a better idea of the attendance than the people on the turnstiles that actually counted it, is quite simply amazing.

As for the game, I can move on. We lost, that's football. I have no gripes with your team. Just your ignorant so-called supporters. It's funny how half of them seemed to be more interested in the Luton score at half time. St Albans 'til you die? More like St Albans 'til full time. And as for the MK chants, that just goes to show what a bunch of small time idiots you are. I would have thought that a supposed ex-fan, more than anyone, would have been able to understand just how sensitive the MK issue is. But no, you make history-stealing accusations instead. I wonder if you'd be quite so brave if you weren't behind a keyboard...

Hmmnnn.

According to you, 35 of the 70 of the Travelling City faithful were 'more interested in the Luton score at half-time'. I'll give it 35 rather than the half of the 150 or so who made the trip.

Out of curiousity, what do you base that summary upon?

i was interested in the L*ton score

however

i was also interested in the Watford score...ithink i may have been interested in a fe w others but admist all the excitement i 've forgotten now

however i had nothing to do with the MK chants all a bit silly really as was your conf. south "wit' which kinda backfired didnt it

seems a shame that you CW are coming across a SAD LOSER and creating il-feeling between 2 clubs who have always, back in the day, got on...
