what is happening at WEFC the web seems to be on a down slope, if its not taking abuse from other "supporters" no WEFC fans seem to have anything to say.keep on top of the stats, reports, give regular updates on injuries new signings, reserves etc it makes good reading for everyone who cant make the games.wefc even seem to be failing in the local papers and the coverage on WEFC games is now on a par with Eton Wick, BSYCOB.and Burnham Reserves. keep the flag flying for WEFC it will all be worth it in the New Year when they climb the table.

What abuse? The only abuse it is taken in the past month or two is from you!!

The stats and reports are up to date. How can I report on things that haven't happend. There is no news on injuries, there are no new players.

Not our fault. The papers decide who and where to send their reporters. For last weeks game neither paper were able to send a reporter for various reasons, but at least they asked me to supply them something. The game was dire in the fact that not a lot happened apart from the goals. I am not a journalist so I just do my best.

If you want to complain about the level of coverage that Windsor & Eton FC is getting in the paper, don't complain on here, complain to people who write the papers!!

Also, if you are going to have a go at the few people who do their best to make Windsor & Eton FC a better club have the decency to put your name to it.

I have no problem taking criticism, I have taken it all my life, but I prefer to know who is dishing it out.

Remember, let he who is without sin cast the first stone!!!

Anonymous,

We've been over this time an time again over the years, the local newspapers will only print what they want to print and if they decide not to cover a game with a reporter then they try and get info from the likes of Malcolm and myself to make a story up - we [W&EFC] can't be held responsible for what the papers decide is newsworthy!

If it wasn't for the likes of Malcolm and Ian Lucas who are both W&EFC supporters [not employees of the local papers] we wouldn't get hardly any coverage at all!

As for news and stats, again it's down to the ability of volunteers [in this case Malcolm] that we've got a website in the first place, how did you find out information about the club before the advent of the internet?

One good piece of news on the site this week is the introduction of the Buy.At scheme which is a potential fund-raiser for the club even for the people that can't get to the games. There are various things on there that won't even cost you any money and the club still gets paid [like answering the questionnaire or signing up for a credit card] so show your support for the club by paying the Buy.At site a visit.

The other option is to volunteer your services to Malcolm to help keep the website up to date - you may not be able to get to games but you seem to have enough time to use a computer!

I've made this point on the Slough forum and i'll make it here. One of the reasons why teams like Burnham and SYCOB get quite a bit of coverage compared to us and yourselves is that they help supply their own news.

The two clubs send a weekly email out to the local press with their latest news on the first team, any players in/players out, fixture news and reserve news etc. If the information is in front of their nose they are more likely to add it to their publications, and of course - chase it up to get more details.

That's why you sometimes get information on the likes of Burnham reserves in the publications - if the reporters have a gap, and no other meaningful news then they may use reserve news to fill-up that gap. By clubs sending out these emails as well things like fixture dates being muddled up and kick-of times being muddled-up will hardly ever be wrong.

At least it generated some replies.

It wasnt meant as a pop at anyone or the club but without media coverage both on your web and in press who will know about Windsors results as only a hanfull of people attend games.Have just seen a program of saturdays game, very impressed with content but not the "old sponsores " photos on fron cover. The last reply about press coverage is constructive, do Windsor not have a press officer as even Junior sides send in their own reports.

Wishing the staff players and fans a Mery Christmas and a better 06 than the bottom four teams around WEFC.

Plenty of us have heard about it.

He was on the bench (should have started but due to bad traffic on the motorway didn't make it to the ground until 3:30) but didn't come on.

Would hardly say he get's around when apart from Maidstone Utd the only other clubs he has played for is Chertey Town (Ryman) and Edgware but has had trials at Staines and possibly AFC Wimbledon.
