Scoreline

My pc had a snooze after I hit the 'submit' button Gaz. I claim a moral victory at least.

Anyway I'm on a hiding to nothing - I'm relying on a combination of Medders and technology!

I am glad Medders gave in to giving Steve V the man of the match. Quality performance from a quality player.

All of the team played well and deserved to win by more than the 3 - 0 scoreline.

We were wonderig behind the goal as to whether Johnny Morgan wanted to head Niall's fierce shot into the net or did he just get in the way?

Congratulations to Roy Butler on keeping the Brimmo pitch up to scratch. The Uxbridge pitch cut up really badly.

More of the same on Saturday - please.

I think Morgans header would have hurt less if it had gone in!!!!!!!!!

Great performance for a middlesex cup game.

You should have seen Medders trying to text during the game i had sent off two texts and put my phone back in my pocket and he was still going.

Well it was a cold night and the pre-match warm-up was embarrassing because the lads formed a circle and did just simple exercise and the pitch cut up in the shape of that circle. Yikes this pitch is not good!

Paul Campbell was running well from the defence from start. Uxbridge had a shot wide. Johnny Morgan shot a free kick over the bar. Dean Green headed a looping header just past the post shame. On 16 minutes in the melee Steve Velandia fell over the ball into the net 0 – 1. Thank you very much. Uxbridge then decided to push up for an equaliser and nearly got it with a town defender clearing off the line. For the next few minutes town were breaking out and running at the Uxbridge defence. Johnny Morgan switching from wing to wing was getting good service and causing all sorts of problems. Lee Smith running straight through the centre was causing all sorts of problems. Johnny Morgan crossed for Steve Velandia to shoot skimming the bar over. Eventually on the 32nd minute Paul Campbell hit one on the ground low and hard and the tall Uxbridge keeper didn’t get down quick enough for it 0 – 2. Uxbridge were never going to come back from that with their minds switching to keeping fit for Saturday's FA Trophy. Lee Smith had a purple patch with a lovely run and then finally he broke through the defence with just the keeper to beat. He went for the narrow gap and the keeper turned the ball around his post. Nice shot and a good save.

Second half saw Russell Penn score bundling the ball into the net for the ref to blow for an infringement. A Johnny Morgan shot landed on top of the goal net. Kevin Stevens off and Niall Ritchie on. Another shot from Lee Smith. Chopper forced to save and for a brief while Uxbridge did try to save face. Steve Baldwin on for Paul Campbell. Niall Ritchie shot after shot. Lee Smith eventually got his reward for persistence on the 68th minute rounding the keeper and parking the ball in the open net. Chopper forced to punch the ball out. Bryan Hammatt on for Steve Velandia. Johnny Morgan shot deflected out and Lee Smith saved.

Nice performance but Town wanted it just that bit more. Some players were definitely playing for first team places and giving Jim Chandler some nice headaches with their performances.
