Havant 3-1 Billericay

Yet again we don't seem interested in playing in the FA cup - if these players can't get motivated by the prospect of playing in the 1st round of "the worlds best cup competition" then what are they doing in football? Absolute embaressment that we took 150 fans to havant to watch a team that couldn't give a flying **** whether they won or not. Big game players my [****!!****].

gutless, spineless, outfought and out thought......

firstly congrats to havant, they fully deserved their win and altho i think they will come a cropper agst daggers at least it looks like they will put up a decent fight.

this performance was an insult to the 150 odd who had paid their cash and taken a day out of their w/e to support the team.

one team was well organised, knew what their jobs were and had the desire to get thru to the next round and it wasnt us.

if players aint fit then dont play em..whats the point of changing the system when you are 3 down..if the players on the pitch cant play or wont play then there is a problem one way or the other

at least the last 2 performances have shattered any illusions that we might be a decent side and that we can all resign ourselves to some more of the mid table mediocrity that gary calder has presided over for the last 4 and a bit years.

players looked as if they were on another planet, i think the three goal blitz by havant in the first half shattered any confidence the team had, they literally fell apart. thats the most amount of goals we have conceded in a single game this season. so what happened to the ryman league's best defence??? i feel we missed roy and russel, yet that isn't an excuse as we have adequate cover for them. none of the players looked as if they wanted it, which disgusts me as this wasnt an essex senior cup game away at heybridge, it was the fa cup for f**ks sake. the players have no excuses, and i feel they really have to prove themselves over the next few games to see if they actually warrant a place in the team.

this performance not only let down the club, but the loyal fans who actually could be bothered (unlike the players) and the ryman league as a whole.

SORT IT OUT BLUES

A total embarrassment for the club. The performance was an absolute joke. Performances like that will completely kill the away support. And before GC complains, the fans were vocal. Well until it was clear that we didn't have a clue what we were doing. 11 (then 10!) blokes on some grass would sum up our game. Second to every ball and totally lacking in imagination again!! No excuses - we were just poor.

And come to that so was the Chairman's behaviour on the terraces. Someone voices an opinion he doesn't share and he becomes angry and abusive. Not really what we needed on what was a terrible day for the team and supporters anyway.

The only good thing to come from this is that it MUST be the end of the back 3. I'm not going to single out individuals, but it was very difficult to find anything good to say about anyone (maybe Wallace's goal - the only highlight). It is however very easy to point out those (and it is plural) who couldn't give a s**t.

Gutted. Absolutely gutted that I spent so much time and money on those bunch of losers!! Thank you GC and GB!!

After Tuesday nights debacle I seriously considered not going on Saturday and after quite possibly the worse 1st half performance I've EVER seen there's very little chance I'll risk travelling that far again and suffer another embarassment on that scale.

We've seriously got to look at our centre midfield which for the last 2 games has been so slow, uncreative and totally over run, the sooner Willo returns to full fitness the better cos the players we've got there at the moment are just not performing. The cover we've got for Essendoh is just not good enough either, Fewings had an absolute stinker (not for the first time in my opinion) and although I thought Wallace did well in the 2nd half we desparately need someone else. Has Colin Simpson found another club yet?? Couldnt we give him a months trial? I know he never really performed when we played against Purfleet but what would we have to lose. The passion he showed during his spell at the club is something we could desparately do with right now.

Think everyone has summed up what has to be the worst performance - I say worst performance cos it was THE F.A. Cup, with the possibility of having got a League team that our "so called" big game players could have pitted themselves against.....I fear our attendance will be affected come Friday, and to be honest can anyone have any objections if there are some absentees.....And I thought this was meant to be "pay back season" - I know we never expect to win every game (cos we are an understanding lot) - But what really hurts is the fact that there are too many games where "our" players just have not turned up.....

It's not the losing, or who we lost to that annoys us so much - it's the way in which we lose. One that suggests a total lack of interest, morale or enthusiasm for the fans or club as a whole.

No disrespect to those teams that we have lost to, but our opponents don't win, we lose. In all the games we have lost so far this season, we have been dreadful, and from the kick off. You can tell the bad games almost as soon as the first ball is kicked.

Lets face it, even though we have had a good start to the season, with a few possible exceptions we haven't been all that good. We certainly have never played more than one half well.

Dont know about you, but it's taken me a couple of days to calm down and formulate my words into something understandable that doesnt contain too many expletives after the crap we had to watch on Saturday.

There is no doubting that we were [censored]. We were well and truely stuffed by a team that wanted to win more than us. That's the thing that hurt so much and the reason for the angry mood on the journey home.

So what next? Yes, Purfleet on Friday. But after Friday and over the next few months? I fully expect to see the usual claim of 'There will be changes' I also fully expect to see the usual lack of changes following this statement.

GC has had quite a bit of money to spend over the past few months and there should be no doubt that the pressure is now on to get HIS players playing for HIM. There have been questions in the past - most notably following the defeats at the hands of Tiverton and Dulwich last season that he couldnt get the best out of his players. Now is the time for him to deliver or consider his position.

It strikes me that the team are playing with no confidence at the moment but why? We're fifth in the league!! At a guess because the confidence was ripped out of them by the management after the Enfield defeat? We are getting the same thing each and every season, disappointment in the FA Cup and inconsistency in the league - we've got the best of squad of players I think the club has ever had, but its still the same. One thing's for certain, we'll have to put up with the same old 'there will be changes', 'I'll be bringing in new faces' and miscellaneous other boring excuses that we always hear from Gary Calder. So has the manager taken the team as far as he can? Answers on a postcard...

The season isn't over yet - we're still in a strong position in the league. However another season where we start "looking towards next season" in January is unacceptable. Looking at the fixtures November could be a make or break month as far as the season goes - league matches against Purfleet, Aldersh*t, Hitchin and Grays, and the FA Trophy and Bryco cup matches.

Well all I can say is,any manager that wants support of himself and his team should perhaps acknowledge the fact that the supporters would amongst other things like some definate info with regard movements in and out of the squad! Brings us back to the same old question,of which still no mention to quell roumors, what about JB? If the manager has no confidence in his team after the Enfield defeat, perhaps the team have no confidence in their manager. If so the supporters have nothing to have confidence in as we are never told anything definate. The way we been playing makes me wonder whether Calder tells the team anything anyway. <img src="/forums/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

I know there is a long way to go, but it's getting a little like deja-vu - season after season. I know we are 5th in the league, but remember last year? It all still fell apart.

The performances must come from what is said to the players and the tactics involved. How many times have we seen us go in 1-0 up at half time after a good first half performance, and then come out in the second and p**s it all away. I've heard GC shout a lot of changes (mainly defensive) when we go into the lead. Even after 10 minutes!! Sometimes it works, but when it doesn't we cannot adapt.

I believe that his attitude to games is all wrong - it wouldn't surprise me if he went to Havant for the draw!! He clearly cannot motivate players, can't teach them how to take a decent set piece and I for one am fed up of hearing his abusive language from the dug out.

Answer on a postcard: yes I think he has taken the club as far as he can. He has had one too many chances now.
