Most unusual Fans I have ever come across.

Well there you go Bredwin, you hit the nail right on the head. It was all that free travel that Uncle used to supply. It drew all the numptys to Hx like a magnet. He even had Sunshine coaches, sponserd by the varity club of great Britain transferd on the side just to make sure he snapped up all the ding-a-lings in Havering.

Only joking though some of those lads have supported that club through thick and er............. Thick. No glory hunters there. Some of them can trace their support back nearly five seasons!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bigshock.gif" alt="" />

Not sure it really matters how long you've supported the club. Thanks to the people who run and ran the club, we only found out of it's existence through good promotion and a sense that it was a community club. When I first started going, I had no idea how the results were going, nor cared, I just wanted a local team to support. However when times got tough, the majority of the fans stuck it out and saw us through to where we are now.

If I'm not mistaken many years ago Romford used to have a sizeable following, yet they dropped away....and only recently through good promotion they've started to regain a fan base of sorts. Sound familiar?

I went to watch the concord game on Saturday against AFC Hornchurch and I must say Hornchurch have some weird fans. I had to go back to the the entrance and check that the Ronda bus wasn't parked in the car pack or there was a concession on for the remedial type.
In particular you had two fans behind the goal shouting complete non-sense every five minutes, making noises like cartoon characters. I looked around me and wondered what kind of example they were showing to the kids that were watching. One of them kept flitching and would have been more at home in a nut house. We wonder why we have football hooligans in this country, when youngsters have these kind of role models to look up to.
At one stage a foul was committed against a Concord player, one of Afc Hornchurch's fans obviously didn't agree. So he decided to run up and down the touch line chasing the ref shouting abuse. I had never seen anything like it, he also had on a dodgy wild western leather cow boy hat on that he must have purchased at the Big boot sale on the way.
I can understand you have paid your entrance fee, maybe at a discounted rate for some. Your free to say what you like but some of your fans took it to an extreme.

Taking nothing away from the Afc Hornchurch team you have some good players and look like they can go on to better things after the ESL.

One of the funniest posts I have ever read. As I was reading it I was like yup that Tree and CD (Taz cartoon character) and as for Ian's hat <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/Rofl.gif" alt="" />!!

Also, CD, the kid and the holw in the fence <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/Rofl.gif" alt="" />

oi breadbin ,,as a relative newcomer to hx games[after a 20 year break] the banter is what i enjoy about the games it would be pretty boring evey week with 50 people and no comments to the players and officials,,whats the point going football if you cant have a scream and shout and let some steam off,,

oi,lightweight,at least a good number of our fans go week in week out,the same can't be said for the old runfordians!!!

and breadbin, footy would be boring without characters supporting their team!!

I think we should all shut up next match and clap the opposition when they score and salute the referee when he gives a dodgy decision against us

NOT!!!

Listen I'm not saying that you can't shout abuse at the ref and have banter at football i'm all for that. It was just the two nutters behind the goal screaming at the top of there heads everytime you had a corner I had never seen anything like it. It was like he was just about to go to war in vietnam, it reminded me of the picture on the front cover of Platoon.

As for the fella with the cowboy hat it was like his life depeneded on the outcome of the decision! You were 1-0 up and the foul wasn't even in a threatning position.
