Wot, no sense of humour ?????/

Recommended Posts

Hey guys what happened to my posting of a couple of days ago enquiring about splits in the supporter groups ?

It seems to have been removed ?

Surely no-one was offended ?

When I called the guys muppets, it was purely an affectionate term that me and my Posse have for the group of very enthusiastic young gentlemen who proudly support our great club by making one hell of a din at each game and subjecting us to streams of obcenities and vile abuse aimed at the opposition, and in particular our old friends from Canvey.

Surely these brave young men were not offended in any way, if they were I do apologise and will buy all 6 of them a stella shandy, or breezer or whatever they get high on, next time I see them.

Before being so "controversial" next time I will ensure that I ask permission first, because I'm sure that before the muppets get under way with their tirade of swearing at every game, they ask all the people in ground whether they will be offended by such gutter language don't they ...... or perhaps they don't ??????

An old expression containing the words "pot", "kettle" and "black" comes to mind !

Also, where's everyone's sense of humour - this forum is supposed to be a bit of laugh is it not ?

Quite frankly this is all getting bloody ridiculous!

I thought this was a forum for all supporters to make comment/observations on and as long as foul language or abusive language wasn't used then everything else was okay?

How wrong I was. It looks like the forum is being influenced by the powers that be at the club? If a comment is made that is either too close to the truth or is embarrassing (ie: the recent thread that was removed relating to the visit of Hornchurch Reserves) it gets removed or in some cases they are removed at the whim of one of the moderators just because it appears that they may have got out of bed on the wrong side, or perhaps its because its the wrong time of the month???

Whatever the reason for Christ sake stop it. We are all adults (or certainly most of us are) and are more than able to decide for ourselves what we respond to on this forum. This forum is a 'vehicle' for debate on all matters concerning primarily Gravesend and Northfleet Football Club, not for the one-sided views and opinions of those that occasionally do not like what is being written.

If people cannot make comment on this forum without the risk of having it either amended or deleted then what is the point in bothering at all. This forum could end-up being quite a lonely place for a small minority of people who are frightened on their own shadows?

I moved it.

My reasons were threefold.

(1) I was asked to. I was not asked to do so by any mod, administrator or anyone connected to the club (that I know of), as far as I know they are just regulars on here.

(2) It was posted in the middle of all the rowing that was going on over the weekend and I had got the hump with it all.

(3) I am a book burning tyrant with no sense of humour.

Oh! that's okay then.

You got the hump with it.

One person thinks he has the right to impose his opinions and views on those that took the trouble to participate in a debate, just because he "got the hump with it".

Bloody pathetic!

When the forum was full of people rowing, correcting spelling mistakes and spouting racist agendas around, it was decided that the forum should be for fleet related topics only.

And while there are from time to time threads that don't adhere to this rule that remain on the forum, the ones that are just there to wind people up will be removed.

The thread was removed because it was just basically a big wind up meant to have a pop at someone. We'd had enough fighting going on over the weekend and I didn't think more was needed, so when I was asked if it could be removed, I was quite frankly happy to do it.

I am genuinely sorry if that upsets people, but to be honest, people are gonna get mad whatever is done.

Harry J - so it's just you and me with a sense of humour then !

I'm glad we've cleared that up

Please feel free to join our "Not taking football too seriously Posse" on Boxing Day, you are the only one to have passed the initiation test (ie the only one not to have taken things too seriously and the only one bright enough to recognise when there's a tongue in a cheek)

Welcome aboard - You will be given the rank of "Junior P**s Taker/Linesman abuser". This will be a rank that you will hold for approximately 5 seasons until you have made the whole Posse laugh with a wise-crack or quip in one short sharp non-foul-mouthed jibe. And, you will not be able to refer to Elvis as Elvis until you have risen above this rank.

Entrance fee however is a pint of John Smith's Smooth in the bar before the game !

You already passed it old son !

But I suppose we could arrange for something else for you if you insist, like buying us all pints of beer before the next game and then sending you back amonst the muppets as an undercover agent. Then just as they were feeling comfortable about having you back in their ranks again, you could nick the drummers drum sticks and insert them up Kenny's ****

How does that sound?

I plump for Cannon and Ball

PS. Must make a note to myself to not take it all so serious, if I want to be in a posse ...

PPS Is the Fleet London branch a posse or a pisse
