My m-o-m last night.

For me there was a man of the match last night it had to be Charlie Mitten. Ok,he dropped a couple, under the circumstances it was a hell of a performance. the save near the end was brilliant(touching a low ball, driven hard across the goal, around the post at full stretch). The pain he had when taking kicks was plain to see. At the end he struggled to get down to pick up his water bottle. If i had to pick an out field player it would be Gavin Mcgowan. he was prepared to take on and run at there defence. Allmans tackle looked bad.Paul Egan had to go and look for a stretcher,he and another gate player had to help carry Allman away. No medics No ambulance cover.Sesay also took a bad knock and was helped off.came back on but was subbed a short while later along with Adolph. Ian hillare came on and unlike DS(about the only time said player didnt back off he nearly got sent off) he ran around for a purpose. The new guy came on and dropped to right back for sesay and Remy tried to replace Adolph.Adolph and taylor tried but often surrounded by 2 sometimes 3 players.we lack that big strong forward to take the markers away.So this saterday coming we are going to be short of Allman, possible Sesay and surly we cannot continue to play Charlie in his state. The majority of the 18 who travelled on the coach returned in a down beat mood. Keep this up and we will again be traveling to away games in the mini bus. My moment of the night was when the lone voice of Melvin boomed at the opporsition keeper,Gawd keeper you are an ugerly b-----d.To which the keeper calmly (and with smile). As it taken you 70 minutes to notice. That was the highlite of the night.

I agree about Charlie, Blueblood, a towering figure in the goal, and so brave too with his saves, even though injured. Gavin is of the same mettle, when he got a bad knock towards the end, all I could hear him saying was that he had to get back on, he did not want to come off. Ian Hilaire gave a good account of himself I thought, but then I have always liked his skill on the ball, and would like to see a bit more of him. The new guy, Musa, although on very late, looked pretty tricky and fast. What did you think of him?

We did miss Anton in midfield. Hasim was playing well though, he is so powerful with his headers and strong in his tackles.

It is a shame that despondency set in, and your coach trip back was a bit gloomy. It is a hell of a trek up there, and a bit tedious with the roadworks everywhere. I feel so grotty today that I question my sanity in belting around all over the country after work and with no dinner, but after all, they are our team, they need our support, and hope springs eternal. But looking back, we were not totally bereft of positives, you just have to root them out. We are a work in progress, after all. Perhaps a bit more work, and some progress on Saturday, will dispel the gloom a bit.

But we keep saying that June. When IS it all going to come together?

By the way well done to ALL of you who braved the weather & journey & result to support the team. I admire you all for being able to do so. Pity those that were more vocal in defeat were put off by going to away games again to support the team because CK decided to ask a stupid question.
