In an attempt to deal with the morons hacking into the website, the login and registration facilties have been suspended.

 

Man of the match will revert to the outside agency for the present until we are able to find the weakness in the system.

 

First Pipex told us it was the forum, so we moved that, now they tell us it must be the login, so with that gone if it happens again we will be able to tell them that it is a weakness in their security that is letting them in.

 

On the other hand if this does stop the problem then we can look to strengthen the login and registration validation procedures to put an end to the problem once and for all.

The hosting company were supposed to have sorted this out by 4:00 this afternoon but obviously couldn't be arsed, so it's back to The back-up version

 

No doubt on Monday they will be telling me it's all our fault again, even though we have done everything that they have suggested to stop these problems.

 

As soon as this hosting period ends we will be moving the site lock stock and barrel to a company that uses more up to date software, that is less easy to hack.

 

In the meantime your patience is appreciated.

No, i would assume not...I posted mine yesturday fine on the backup.

 

If I were you I would find the thread of a few weeks back (something about aldershot predicitons) and post it on there or just start a new thread so anyone with the same poblem can post it there to

Main site is now back on line, but I would suggest that you add the back up site to your favourites just in case.

 

Still arguing with the hosting company about security as they still say it's nothing to do with the fact that they are running PHP 3 instead of 4 and 3 is known to have lots of holes in it.

 

I suspect that they may update to PHP 4 when 5 comes on line <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

 

All I can do is check the site as often as I can to ensure that any intrusion is dealt with as quickly as possible to avoid the site being closed again.

The Server is currently down, and so I cannot access or update the site until Pipex get it up and running again.

 

The backup site is working but shares databases with the main site and so also cannot be updated.
