a quick reflection on tonight

obviously a disappointing result which hardly tells the tale....lively urchin start with at least 5 chances in the first 10 minutes but it became pretty obvious to me that the stansted goalie was gonna have one of those nights and he did....

 

wave after wave of urchin attacks and nowt coming out of them...only the second attack on our goal led to a free kick and our players watched as it was passed and then hit into the net....there was a debate about the ref blowing the whistle after the kick was taken but no excuses...soft goal...

 

second half pretty much the same and an eventual equaliser from healsy well taken but only to see our goalie completely miss a standard back pass 5 minutes later and allow their striker to bundle it into the net...

 

cue 10 minutes in their penalty area and we wouldn't have scored again by boxing day...their goalie was excellent and they defended as if their lives depended on it....clean game and usual incompetent officials who were consistent with most of the others this season so far...

 

well done to stansted who rode their luck and fcked off into the night singing

nice visitors and good luck to 'em...also nice to see the burnham boys there larfin their socks off.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

Have to say apart from the odd handball shout, there was no moaning until about 2 minutes to go and at the final whistle when all was lost....oh well thats footie. Hx were all over them but they defended with credit and the war horse put a great effort in .If Hx had gone in front who knows how it would have ended up.

abbey, totally right with the 'fergie time' - westy went to the bar with about 30 seconds left, or so we thought. i think he was on his 3rd by the time i joined him.

 

agree with most of what has been said, stansted were good for their 3 points, well earned and no complaints from me, i even bloody applauded them off the pitch, which i do not do lightly, (as i am heavy, before you all say it).

 

their front two were quality and the management team had obviously done their homework.

 

this may sound arrogant, but i did find tonight's defeat rather refreshing & think that we needed to lose a game (if only to go back to 4-4-2... i am a bit of a footy purist...)

 

fair play again to stansted, polite and amiable visitors, not like the pillaging burnham midgets sniffing around...

 

off to the sewage works saturday, and if lightweight is correct, i hope my cold returns so i don't have to smell it.

 

up the urchins.

wasn't one of your boys drinking double JD's tonight was it and showing off his fishnet tights to the girls behind the bar...

Must say...and I dont like Carlsberg, the pint (or 3 that I had!) in the clubhouse was the dogs!

 

Very polite service, which must be a bit alien to most people in this league and the place is the nuts. Look forward to grabbing all Unc's hospitality when we visit soon!

 

Oh I nearly forgot, the bacon burger was the dogs too!

lazy cow, should have walked round to tell the announcer, just like we do. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well how the bloody hell am I supposed to know that! I'm stilll right though, he must have Fergies watch on I reckon!
