This has been a good debate. Shame a defeat started it off.

Fans go to matches in the HOPE of success. The answer to 'why did you come?' should be 'I was hoping to see a win'.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect those who disagree with me. However some people seem to regard anything less than promotion this season as a failure. That cannot be so.

Look where we were last season or the season before. To even have a club to support is a success. To not get relegated is a success.

The manager has stated he couldn't get the players he wanted this season because of the embargo. Ok, let's take him at his word. If he can keep us up he has achieved the first objective. Next season, with our strong support and financial backing we have a right to expect promotion. Not this season.

A change of manager now would be a disaster. You don't throw the captain overboard when the ship hits rough sea. We should be patient and get behind the team. Make your judgment this time next year.

I wont be at the game.

I still stand by what Ive said. Margate fans dont go in with hope. They go with expectation of 3 points. Margate isnt going to win every game and with a team still in flux how can we expect that to be the case? I think whats come with the new ground is an expectation of wins galore and promotion. The wins arent going to come however good the ground might be if the team isnt right.

As Margate fans you should be supportive of CK instead of being so heavily critical of him. Bear in mind, CK isnt a player. If you are going to criticise anyone it should be the people on the pitch. Those of you calling for CK to step down are wrong to do so. We dont need any managerial change. That would make things worse.

Seasidesteve, why bother with the politician comments? My support of Margate has nothing to do with my politics. I dont come to Margate games as a politician.. I come as a fan of Margate.

Chris,I dont think most go JUST to see a win. We go HOPING for a win, yes, but a good performance is more of an uplift than Just a win.I can only speak for myself but I am in no way expecting promotion this year & never have done. Its just not about the winning or losing, though staying up is and should be the priority.Promotion or demotion,it really boils down to getting a good performance out of the team.If we can see that and STILL lose then I think most would accept that defeat. So long as we dont go down a league again. That would be disatrous. We are lucky this year as there are two or three teams even worse than us and thats saying something,so relegation even with the way we are playing may not be so hard to avoid this year.

As for your next point, about us still being here and still being able to play games at at all let alone back home.Of course we know that but we HAVE come home We ARE turning a team out again in "GATE" colours. We ARE still in business. Why cant people, you included let this drop now and get on with other things such as the ON field activities. Believe me no-one is more grateful to be back home and playing more than I am but please please let this go now.We will always be happy to still be here but how long is this going to be said.Come on now time to move on from that surely!

We need to pick up ON the field now. That is the next step & regardless of the lack of players we have had at our disposal we should, even with these players be showing a lot more than we are doing. There are some good players out there and as another post says,if they are talented then why are they not geling and playing together as a team unit yet. Most of them have been playing together for quite a few games now so we should expect,& rightfully, some kind of improvement by now.Against Hampton they attacked and took the game to the opposition &played outof their skin and it worked wonders but in most other games we sit back and allow the opposition to dictate. As I said before we did it then so why not again and again.

As for CK I am in agreement that he should not go JUST yet but in a couple of months,if things dont change ON the field then I may well be one of those that will be after his head also. Its down to him to sort it and we all have been very patient and am sure the majority will STILL be patient but patience runs out after a certain time with most so unless something improves, performance wise, then I fear others will be looking for a new manager also.

We just want better performances with more consistency, preferably with the same manager.
Lets hope things turn around very soon.

When they do,IF they do & I am sure they will then all those that are saying things will get better, will boast that fact, but as it is at the moment those criticising are fully justified in doing so,myself included. I just dont agree with their thoughts on changing the manager ..just yet!

i did not expect promotion this year and probably not next year either but i do expect to see more effort than we have had and a little bit more savvy.some of them dont even know what position they are meant to be playing.and james i dont think you quite understand the meaning of being a supporter just yet if u are still with us in a couple of years you may just get it

I agree Cookie. I like most people go to a football match to watch football. What i do expect is the team of players i support give the game there all. i love to see the Gaaaate win but even in defeat i hope to go home( as at fisher) in the knowledge they tried. In my opinion to many of our guys did not put in the required effort on tuesday. Not enough where prepared to go out there and give it there all. The front men do not go that extra yard to chase down the ball/put pressure on the keeper/run into space. Young adolph and young taylor should be prepared to run themselves into the ground for there wages if not the team.We have Elis Remey and Ian Hillare who can replace them when or if they are drained. This is what i want to see.If i was KP i would be seriously p----d off having to pay some of the wages.I like you have heard the stories of CK's efforts to bring in a striker/target man and i know is efforts continue. This is what we are missing, some one who can take those markers away and strike fear in defenders hearts. I agree Ck should stay.To keep on saying any other is counter productive and will only unbalance the club. i also agree that this should be the end of it.
