STATEMENT BY IMRAAN LADAK 05/12/2005

Following discussions this weekend, it has been decided that Paul Gascoigne is unable to carry out his duties as Manager of Kettering Town Football Club.

With Paul's status within the football world, it it impossible to expect anything but intense media speculation surrounding his departure.

However the priority for Kettering Town is the stability of the team and so my immediate priority is to appoint a new manager, rather than discuss the reasons for Paul's departure.

--------------------------------------------------

Sounds like there is more to it than Gazza just pulling out because of some bad results then.

Have a lok at Gazza's own site -

From Gazzas website:

GAZZA COMMITTED TO KETTERING - 5/12/2005

Paul Gascoigne, Paul Davis & Andy Billingham totally believe in

Kettering Town Football Club and want to continue to work with the

fans...

Paul Gascoigne would like to announce that following various incidents

over the past 5 weeks with Imraan Ladak he has no option but to look to

buy the controlling share from Imraan in order to move Kettering Town

Football Club forward.

Following the initial takeover Imraan Ladak has not acted in a

professional manner as representative and chairman of the football club.

With acts of un-professionalism towards the players & countless other

scenarios which will remain private, he has made the manager's job

impossible.

Imraan Ladak's consortium built a management team to work together in

achieving football league status in the next 3-5 years and Imraan Ladak

clearly has his own agenda.

Paul Gascoigne, Paul Davis & Andy Billingham totally believe in

Kettering Town Football Club and want to continue to work with the fans

in reaching football league status but in the light of certain issues,

which will remain private, the only way forward is to buy the

controlling share in the club.

Paul Gascoigne said:-

"I've lost 2 out of 7 games in the league & have been told of the

previous management team stats when they took over. The chairman wants

to sack me but I said I will never walk away from Kettering Town & I

will fight all the way."

"I am now looking to buy the football club, I said I would never walk

away & I said I would achieve the goal of achieving league status in the

next 3 to 5 years."

"I have spoken to top professionals in the game and they have said I

should of walked away weeks ago. I didn't and got my head down by

working hard & I will continue to stick in there until I achieve my

goal."

"If the fans want to get rid of me I will take that onboard. I have

worked hard in the last 6 weeks and haven't been paid by the club."

"I have never been left alone to do my job as manager. Imraan has

questioned Paul Davis's decision on Arsenal reserve team players, 'are

they good enough to play for Kettering Town?"

"He sacked a long standing fan & supporter of the club & then

re-instated him the following day. I have paid all of the voluntary

staff personally out of my own pocket as they are a fantastic asset to

the football club & players. Imraan's view was don't pay them because

there not used to it."

"Imraan spoke about substantial funds being made available to take this

club forward and I'm yet to see them materialise."

"On the way to watch the reserves, Imraan rang up the reserve team

manager and said drop the two forwards that the manager had included and

told him to play his own choice of forwards. The reserves were set up

for us to take a look at new players and he totally undermines the

football management decisions."

"The fans can make their own decision. They either want me & Paul Davis

to take this club forward or they want a doctor in charge?"

"Look at what we've achieved in 5 weeks. Two top teams want one of my

players, two players have been called up by England, I've brought in two

top players, installed a reserve team to help with new trialists &

injured players coming back, improved the nutrition for the players and

I've achieved this in only 5 weeks at the club."

"Myself & Paul could not organise training sessions because we didn't

know which players he wanted to add into the training sessions."

"Imraan has got the [****!!****] with me because I have been in the game for

years. I've asked him not to be in my office & asked him if he could use

somewhere else to conduct his business."

"I also asked him to smarten up for match days and to act as a club

ambassador."

"He does not speak to sponsors or away team directors. This was left up

to myself to meet & greet sponsors. He has my whole staff a nervous

wreck & I can't continue in this way."

"If I do leave then, god bless Kettering Town Football Club and the next

manager."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Kettering community,

switching on the town's Christmas lights, meeting fans & sponsors & I

feel I've created a buzz around the town which I want to continue."

"I'm totally committed to Kettering & I have a dinner planned on the

14th December at Wicksteed Park which will go ahead if the fans still

want to come and see me."

"I believe in the town & the potential the club has and I believe we

have made huge strides forward in the past 5/6 weeks. But unfortunately

the situation has become untenable and we will look to find a solution

to the issues."

His statement(if true) reflects on Laddaks involvement and that may well be the crux of the matter after all. Thanks for that JJ and having read it I apologise if my tongue-in-cheek remarks are way off line. Still there is always two sides to a story. Truth will out eventually.

Sounds like Gazza is following in the footsteps of another well known player called Steve Claridge who maybe cant sit still for two minutes in one place or who have overstepped the mark. Or maybe just wanted to do the job without interference and the latter is understandable, if indeed that was the real reason for going.

Interesting follow up on Sky tonight where Laddaks DOES accuse Gazza of downing too much booze again. Gazza replies that though he's sacked he will continue to turn up. He admits to having a double brandy but thats all. The new interim manager states that he will have to pay to get in though.Seems it could be down to him falling off that wagon after all but it could also be 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Furtherto the above I heard Gazza say tonight and saw him say it that he has done wonders with the club since he has been there but I have to question that as results have seemed to go against them in that time.I am inclined to believe Laddaks statement more though as it does seem to be more of a realistic report and more believable. However without being involved and not knowing first hand what REALLY happened I have to sit on the fence and give both he and Laddaks views & statements the benefit of the doubt in both cases.Just as well it dosent really affect us though, but hearing about,it is news that is giving non-league football front page even if it is for the wrong reasons.

Now he has been arrested for thumping a Sun photographer. Photographer cut!

Gazza is doing himself no good whatsoever with his actions and all he is doing is to confirm that of those around him that believe he has lost it again,is under the influence again and is generally losing the plot again. I hope he gets himself sorted out as we dont wish a repetition of recent events. His chairman at Kettering is looking to be correct when he mentions that the good name of the club is foremost in his mind when giving Gazza his marching orders.Gazza is not doing his case any favours. If anyone was unsure as to what actually occurred between the two people involved at Kettering then Gazzas attitude and non-professionalism is just adding fuel to the fire and will have people see that maybe, despite his innocent plea's,he is indeed unfit to be at the helm of a football club after all. What a silly boy! Get a grip Gazza!
