In the cold light of day, a big well done to the lads for a gritty performance and although a bit fortunate when their goal was disallowed you have to earn your luck in football, and of course this we did by having a good goal disallowed ourselves.

How many games have we had to grind out a victory and someone has pulled out all the stops to score a vital goal?

A good crowd of 400+ and a very subdued Eastside but the Riverside made up for that of course.

Once again the officials were to say the least, a trifle inexperienced and why does the lino persist in ensuring just one bench is within their "box", surely a good man to man word with both benches and no histrionics nor finger wagging would do the trick.

We now play the Fly by Nights, Stansted and Concord followed by a low key affair with Rumford, so let's all get behind the JAPS lads and lasses taking every game as it comes.

cheers

>> Did there player get booked for taking his shirt off?

Not obviously so - the yellow card came after the Barkingside team discussed the decision with the linesman, and at that time, the number seven appeared to push the linesman.

The referee consulted the linesman and only waved the yellow card after they had finished their own discussion.

I expected two, possibly three, red cards, and was somewhat surprised that there was only one yellow card.

I am aware of the change in offside interpretation this season - and as far as I am concerned, if a player is on the pitch, he must be interfering with play - but in this particular incident, the players were both offside, and there was no question of whether or not they were interfering, as both touched the ball.

With regard to the BH disallowed goal, the keeper had saved the ball with his legs, BH had followed up and scored. He was not offside when DH kicked the ball.
