Match thread v Bromley

Recommended Posts

am thoroughly knackered! This cheerleading lark is extremely tiring!...

Was just an awe inspiring 2nd half performance and so what we needed. McCleary was brilliant, mark avery had a good game (although at least one of the goals we conceded was probably his fault) and hodges kept plugging away and it finally paid off. Whatever you said Eddie, bravo, it seemed to work!

Any news on the pom poms emma?

It's difficult to even begin trying to rationalise a game like that! Bromley should have scored THREE before they got their first and we created virtually nothing during the first half.

In the second half we tore them apart, particularly, as the Bromley fan said, after their player went off. We should have been in the lead before we scored our first with Josias missing TWO one on one's amongst a host of other sqaundered chances. Daly put a header wide also before Hodgey started it all off.

I couldn't see anything wrong with Carbon's 'winner' which was disallowed for handball before Hodgey sent the travelling Rebels mental with a scrambled last minute winner having hit the post!

What was the difference between first half and second? Belief. Nothing else other than the players beliving they could do it. Absolutely bloody fantastic boys.....well done. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Great comeback. First half they looked like scoring with every attack - and seemed to create a good chance from every attack. Plus we were giving their left winger far too much room on the left.

Second-half Mousinhio scores a bit of a scrappy goal and then McCleary levels it. From that point we created chance after chance and there was only ever going to be one winner (well with our defence at times you never know!). Jay gets a goal disallowed, and then deep in injury time Hodgey gives us 3 points.

Now we've been here before getting a good victory (Fisher) and then not playing well, so lets put a bit of a run together now please!

PS - What a difference Wilko made, but MOM was Mousinhio

What a match. Just brilliant. Second half we could have run away with it had Carbon taken his chances and had a goal disallowed.

Just two other things to add:

1) Sorry to Hodges for getting him booked for "overcelebrating" his winner. I grabbed him in a bear hug which did not help.

2) Well done to the Bromley keeper - bloody nice bloke who joined in the banter, pulled off some cracking saves and despite the result gave us all a clap at the end of the game.

First of all ... GET IN THERE!!!

First 20 minutes we looked decent, despite giving them chances, then we went to pot and went in at half time 2-0 down. After the break we saw a different team. Mousinho and McCleary, Slough's best two players by a mile (although as Chris said Wilko made such a difference) scored decent goals, before Hodges got the winner (which was actually a follow up to Ballard's volley NOT his own as some other people have said)!!! JUST PROVING THAT I KNOW MORE THAN YOU!!!

Here here about the keeper, great bloke, apologies for accidently throwing the ball in his face. Great to see that desire from the players at the end again, but as Liam said it's no use if we do what we did after Fisher and go and lose at home next. Lets keep this run going!!!

Excellent come back, and what a last 15 minutes. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />

Well done Rebels. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Nearly back to full strength, and no substitutions made.

BR and myself spoke to Eddie after the game, and you could see the pride in his face.

Now you know you can do it.

COME ON REBELS

That's why i travel miles to see us play. Can we sack Windsor and just play away from now on? I think the supporters needed that win as much as the players and management, and players like Wilko really make all the difference

Fair play to Sue - who was moaning about us all not getting behind the team in the first half, for getting the cheerleaders going, although they did sound a bit like the mice on the mouse organ in bagpuss.

Can I just say well done to Emma, Charlie, Lynn, myself and of course our honorary cheer leader Mr Chris Sliski for excellent vocal support in the second half.

Well done, I am sure this helps lift the team whether we are winning or losing.

Oh my god I must be losing the plot, Warren I have just read your post. I dont know what you mean !! We have the voices of angels.

Apart from the great football team we have, the other reason we won was of course down to your twirly thing, good job I went back to the car to get it and I will make sure it is with me on Saturday.
