Seats in the Plough End

I was under the impression that the seats are going in at the Plough end purely for financial reasons so unless any of us can come up with the readies to pay for a new terrace and roof the fact that most of us prefer to stand is unfortunately not going to cut much ice.

Having made the decision and got the grant I just hope they get a move on the sooner it is open the better.

I don't see why - Burton's new ground has plenty of terracing, and they're a side of similar stature to us in terms of realistic ambitions, attendances (although theirs are a little bigger at present) etc.

When the Stonebridge Road terrace was redone a few years back, it was built in such a way that seats could be installed easily at a later date if necessary, without any additional concreting. So if the terraces at our new ground were built in this way, the ground could be converted easily into an all-seater one if a somewhat unlikely storming up the divisions occurred.

My only concern is that it is done with some thought! Take the outside seats at Canterbury cricket club (green ones). The seats are arranged in rows one behind the other, but the angle of the slope is not that steep. The result is if someone taller than you sits in front of you, you get to watch the back of their head for the day! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Where as a threater the row behind is offset from the row in front, so you look between two people in front of you (not sure if this would work at a footy game). Or you make the banking steeper so that each row is a head height higher than the one in front. Otherwise it will just be annoying and no one will sit there!

Ah ha...Lager Top......you only have 2 beers anyway so it would not matter where you drank them !! And as for the £12 entry, you are one of the richest men I know....so that extra £2 is bankrupting you a ?

Laugh.......you can get another round in !!

Cheers,

Just out of interest why have we never put flags and banners out on the stand? Just saw Stanley with their big flag and thought we could have covered up all that nasty concrete ho hum just an idea.

I only hope for your sake that FleetFanatic doesn't read that. Or indeed the vast majority of confguide users.
