Seats in the Plough End

I dont see the problem with seats disrupting the atmosphere. what is with all of the negativity towards them? they will allow us entry into the LDV and will re open the plough end. The atmosphere comes from under the plough end, doesn't matter if you're sitting or standing. As long as the club do the sensible thing and dont change extra for entry into the stand I do not see the problem. As for not going due to it not being open, what a pathetic excuse. Tell them to bugger off to Scallingham or Charlton. their excuse? no decent atmosphere: As mentioned above the same atmosphere can be generated under there, seats or no seats. decent view? the view will be the same from under the plough end, seats or no seats.

Gotta say I'm disappointed if the plough end's gonna be all seated. There goes any chance of getting that Plough end atmosphere back we had a few years ago. I don't think any of you were slating the drum when we had enough people to sing behind the goal. But with the 10-15 people or so that we actually get singing nowadays it's no wonder it sounds crap! I understand some people don't wanna join in but surely you realize that we're only trying to do our best in raising the atmosphere on saturday afternoons?! Don't you realize how little noise we'd make without a drum? There's not enough people singing to be heard from the other end of the stand most probably.

But this new seating plan ain't gonna help with the atmosphere or attendances I'm afraid.

If we had more in attendance and better vocal support then the drum wouldn't be a problem at all would it! Note that is why I take a smaller drum on our long away games, because of lack of support in the first place.

Why get rid of the main drum when the club basically funded for the thing in the first place!

The drum will go in the seats if possible in the Plough End where it belongs or where the current place where it is at the moment.

As for the anti Canvey songs blame the other 350 people standing around me who sing the same thing every week. I always try to sing about the club we are playing that day.

Have we any idea when this will be? I assume it will be done for the preseason friendlys or is it me weeelll underestimating??

One question, will our over zealous stewards evict anyone who deigns to stand up during the game?

I can see the picture - hordes of orangecoats swarming over the seats like at the Labour Conference to arrest and evict 12 80 year old flat caps who brazenly stood up to applaud after Charlie scores his hat-trick against Grays.

As already mentioned, the seats might help smarten the ground up a bit, so its not such a bad thing.

As for the atmosphere being affected - thats rubbish if the Club fills many of the seats with the school parties that will be receiving "free tickets" to games. I'm sure a couple of hundred screaming kids accompanied by equally stressed parents can help make some noise

Wonders if the Club will splash out and have rows of red seats and then white seats arranged so that it reads "THE FLEET" behind the goal. Might look quite smart.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the issue of "leg room" with the new seats - given the rather cramped arrangements for the Main Stand.

When putting the seats in, lets hope they test the space between the seats by using a seated 6-foot type person rather than the 4 foot 6" dwarf that was obviously used for the Main Stand
