we all remember gazza being booked for showing the yellow card, but this one made me chuckle.

from the obit for former blackpool goalkeeper harry sharratt...

"During his time as the country's best amateur goalkeeper at Bishop Auckland, Harry was booked - for building a snowman on his goal-line during a match one wintry Boxing Day!"

any others?

In a match at Fulham in the 1970s;Jimmy Dunne a Fulham defender was getting heckled from one section of the crowd. He went over to the section and dropped his shorts, waving his genitallia at them.He was sent off and banned for several games. It was also said that he was pissed at the time which said alot about football in the 70s.

On Talk Sport last night an ex-pro (forgotten who it was) said he was booked for holding onto the post whilst defending a corner. As it was his second yellow, HE HAD TO GOOOOO!!!

I also remember, back in 1976, the infamous Rudy Glockner booking Billy Bonds for having his shirt hanging out and his socks rolled down during a Cup Winners Cup match at Den Haag!

Yeh Kel correct, actually played at s'Gravenhage, team was called Den Haag.

We wuz 4 0 down at ht, two goals from the roaming right back Aad Mansfeld.

Second Half Bill Jennings tucked two away, beat them 3 1 in the home leg, atmosphere electric.

I worked for the Dutch at the time, good night that was in me boss' club in town.
