How long?

Recommended Posts

Ok we are on a rocky road, some might say to no where ! Eddie has some thinking to do, we all know that and some players to realise that the game really does count for a big part in people's lifes and need to get their heads up and battle for the Club....

We are in this together and the cop out to get rid of Eddie..is not the answer , we need to buckle down and battle...if we had lost last night and put up a battle we would not be asking the same questions....football supporters are to fickle and need to show some that we are behind them 100 % and the manager..

(I am not talking about those who travelled to Folkestone they are 100 % behind the team) and show it by travelling over 200 miles last night)

Its bloody hard to motivate your selves I know...But the team is low on confidence too and injuries have not helped...

we must all dig dig deep and keep the faith....

cheers Chris sliski

How long............before last night's rendition of 12 days of Christmas by BFR gets released as the STFC Christms song?! For those of you didn't hear it, I'm sure Gaz will be putting it on the DVD as a special feature!

How long have you lot been suffering from short term memory problems?

Eddie Denton won us our first trophy in decades and lead us to the second round proper of the FA Cup. He took us on a huge unbeaten run to secure "promotion" to this level.

He has earned the right to have a bad season. I sure as hell don't want us to go down but I think with Eddie we have a chance to turn things round and we should give him the opportunity.

he has done a good job but his time has ran out our best chance of promotion was last season but we lost important players which haven't been replaced well personally i think Dave Mudge is worth a shot done a good job at Burnham

Well said Martin.

It is extremely difficult to get out of a losing run. With every match the players subconsciously believe they will lose before a game has started.

Once that happens, it is difficult for even the top managers to change things. Just look at Rangers at the moment - Champions last season, sack the manager half way into this season.

We need to get behind everyone at the club to turn this around.

Has he really? Rumours exist that several of their players are earning far more than ours and they are still floundering in league a level below ours. Is that doing "a good job?"

I assume from your criticism that you are planning on personally giving Eddie the wages to replace high earners like Murphy (Matt), Murphy (Michael) and Saulsbury? Can we get a magic wand graemlin on here? It seems that some people are in need of one.

what is good with dave mudge is he gives youngsters a chance and watched them in the replay against canvey they had such spirit in the team which must be generated from the manager i don't see slough showing any spirit this could be because some players may be losing faith with eddie

Their budget is £1,800 a week at Burnham. How that compares with ours, who knows? All we know is ours was slashed last season, but to what? As Dominic said on the coach on the way back, to see the luxury Hamilton coach outside for the players is a bit galling. Car pool them, surely that's cheaper or do we have money to burn?

Burnham are 17th (out of 22) in the Southern League Division One West. Just for clarification, that's five places off the bottom of a league a level below Ryman Premier, albeit with a few games in hand.

Denton is criticised for not adequately replacing the experienced players yet you want John Rudge because he gives young players a chance. Isn't that contradictory?

You seem to think that Rudge is able to motivate players because you saw the Canvey game. Does that mean Eddie CAN motivate players if you only saw the Walsall game?

How good was the motivation when Burnham drew 0-0 with Stourport on Saturday headlined on Burnham's website as "Blues dour performance gifts point to Swifts"? Doesn't that suggest otherwise?

I have no problem with people holding differing views but at least try and make your argument logical.

The club is in a protracted spiral of decline. There is no ground, no ability to plan for the long term, limited ability to raise funds, and now the threat of dropping to three levels below what many consider the 'natural' level of Conference National.

Unfortunately, clubs in this position usually make the mistake of change for changes sake. Invariably, the changes result in the quality of imports (players, officials, management) being lower than existed prior to the change. The reason is simple - players and managers who are available at this stage of the season to a club in STFC's predicament clearly need a club more than a club needs them, otherwise they would not be available.

Let the existing management do their job: The objectives are by neccessity limited by the decline of the club in general. STFC needs a rebirth and renaissance at some point, but who says this would be more difficult from a lower division anyway?

no i said to the likes of hendon who are below us we ave dropped to many ponts to teams below and around us and thats not good we need a manager who can get the players going if eddie can do that then let him stay but he hasn't proven it yet

On the basis of a few results this season I'd probably agree with you but you are ignoring every good result from the last two seasons as evidence of him being able to motivate the players? Or is the manager responsible for when it goes wrong but not when it goes right?
