Criticism wasn't aimed at you, Gaz. It was a reflection of how the team have been playing. Unfortunately your decision to provide what is a brilliant service (particularly at this level) has coincided with a few of the worst performances in recent years. There's not a lot you can do about that other than keep filming and hope for a few more Fisher's than Folkestone's!

Well, in recent matches this season, there have been two comments aimed at the video work, both from Martin, which perhaps (I'm hoping) I've taken the wrong way.

 

"Have you noticed ever since you've been filming we've been sh**e"

 

"No f*cker buys the DVD's"

 

Now as you'll appreciate, and as Budman will testify, it's not the easiest thing to do, particularly when we're not playing well or getting the results, and I have to sit through and watch the match again before editing it all through. It's a lot of work on my part, which ok, fair enough, I can still do if the club aren't playing well in the hope we'll shift some DVD's to the opponents, but when there's comments aimed at the work I'm doing, it hardly gives me the incentive to carry on.

 

I just hope I'm being over sensitive in this as Martin misses my company behind the goal....

Indeed you are mate. I do miss you behind the goal though (as gay as that sounds).

 

The comments were trying to add a bit of levity amid dire performances but I can only apologise if they come across the wrong way and they certainly are not meant as criticism of you - I really enjoy the highlights package - win or lose (it is always good to see who is at fault for our goals against.

I figured, just took it to heart as a lot of people queried the decision to do it, and being honest, I do miss the comradery (sp?) behind the goal, which is why it was good last night to be integrated in with you guys, slightly.

 

Of course it doesn't help if the team aren't playing well, as I'm just getting frustrated along with the rest of you, I just have to keep quiet about it behind the camera!

DJD, budman covers for me on occassion, but it's not fair on him to lumber him with it too often...

 

That said, if people fancy it and are comfortable doing the filming for the odd match or two (perhaps on a rotational basis?) I'm more than happy to get back behind the goal.

As I've said before I'm more than happy to film more often. I spent most of last saturdays watching from the opposite end (apart from 5 minutes of madness). Just ask me when you see me at any game and I'll film it.

 

Anyway Budgirl will be pleased to get rid of me for 90 minutes.
